Summary:
As a Playwright Automation Engineer, a typical day involves designing, developing, and maintaining automated test solutions to support high-quality software delivery. The role focuses on building and enhancing Playwright-based automation frameworks, integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, and leveraging GitHub Copilot and GenAI tools to improve productivity and efficiency. This position requires strong collaboration with development and QA teams to ensure reliable, scalable, and maintainable automation solutions while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and quality engineering best practices.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain Playwright Automation Framework solutions.
- Develop and execute automated test scripts using Playwright with TypeScript / JavaScript.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD Tools (Jenkins, etc.) pipelines.
- Utilize Playwright MCP to support automation testing activities.
- Leverage GitHub Copilot / GenAI Tools to improve development productivity and test coverage.
- Manage source code and automation assets using Git, GitHub, and Bitbucket.
- Support Test Automation Framework Development and continuous enhancement of automation capabilities.
- Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure high-quality and reliable releases.
- Contribute to regression automation, reusable assets, process optimization, and continuous improvement
initiatives.
- Report automation progress, risks, blockers, and testing outcomes to stakeholders.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must Have Skills: Proficiency in Playwright Automation Framework.
- Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript / JavaScript.
- Experience with CI/CD Tools (Jenkins, etc.).
- Working knowledge of Playwright MCP.
- Experience using GitHub Copilot / GenAI Tools.
- Strong knowledge of Git, GitHub, and Bitbucket.
- Experience in Test Automation Framework Development.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, debugging, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Ability to design scalable, maintainable, and reusable automation solutions.
- Experience working in Agile development and testing environments.
- Veeva Safety Domain Knowledge is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of software testing lifecycle and quality engineering principles is preferred.
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have 7–10 years of experience in test automation.
- Exposure to the Veeva Safety domain is highly preferred.
- Experience with automation framework design, CI/CD integration, and modern QA practices is preferred.
