Summary:
Custom Software Engineer with expertise in developing scalable, high-performance solutions tailored to business and technical requirements. Strong experience in coding, component enhancement, and cross-functional collaboration using agile methodologies. Specialized in MATLAB, Simulink, and Sims-cape with a focus on automotive electrification system modeling, including batteries, electric motors, DC or DC converters, power electronics, and vehicle dynamics, supporting robust and innovative engineering solutions.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Develop, validate, and optimize high-fidelity plant models using MATLAB, Simulink, and Sims-cape for automotive subsystems.
2. Execute MIL, SIL, PIL, and HIL testing to support model verification, control strategy validation, and application development.
3. Model and simulate electrified vehicle components including batteries: electrical, thermal, aging, electric motors: PMSM & IM, DC or DC converters, power electronics - inverters, switching losses, and vehicle dynamics longitudinal and lateral.
4. Apply advanced physics, mechanical engineering principles, and control theory to create accurate, robust physical models.
5. Design modular and scalable simulation architectures to accelerate rapid product development and system integration.
6. Contribute to CFD-related evaluations and support thermal and fluid flow simulations where required.
7. Maintain comprehensive model documentation, traceability, version control, and compliance with automotive development standards.
8. Engage directly with customers to translate technical requirements into structured modeling specifications.
9. Lead requirements gathering, technical analysis, and scope definition with cross-functional teams.
10. Collaborate with controls, systems, design, validation, testing, and program management teams to ensure alignment.
11. Participate in customer reviews, technical discussions, model validation sessions, and integration problem-solving activities.
Professional & Technical Skills:
1. More years of experience in automotive modelling, simulation, and system engineering.
2. Strong proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, and Sims-cape.
3. Hands-on experience in plant modelling and high-fidelity physical system modelling.
4. Extensive experience with MIL, SIL, PIL, and HIL validation workflows.
5. Deep understanding of electric powertrain systems, including batteries, electric motors, inverters, DC or DC converters, and thermal systems.
6. Solid foundation in physics and mechanical engineering principles.
7. Exposure to CFD tools and thermal/flow simulation concepts.
8. Experience working in agile and fast-paced product development environments.
9. Strong written and verbal communication skills with proven customer interaction and stakeholder management experience.
10. Skilled in requirements analysis, technical planning, and structured documentation.
11. Experience with AUTOSAR, embedded software development, and real-time simulation tools: dSPACE, NI, OPAL-RT.
12. Knowledge of Battery Management Systems - BMS, motor control strategies, and vehicle energy management.
13. Scripting experience in Python and MATLAB, including object-oriented programming concepts

- The candidate should have minimum 7 years of experience in MATLAB.
- This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
