Summary: As a Custom Software Engineer, you will lead the effort to design, build, and configure applications, acting as the primary point of contact. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Oracle PL/SQL, along with working knowledge of Python, Perl, and Core Java with with a strong background in database development and performance optimization. Your typical day will involve collaborating with various teams to gather requirements, developing innovative solutions, and ensuring that applications meet the needs of stakeholders. You will also engage in problem-solving activities, providing guidance and support to your team members while overseeing the implementation of best practices in software development. Roles & Responsibilities: - Expected to be an SME. - Collaborate with business analysts and application developers to gather requirements and deliver database solutions and manage the team to perform. - Responsible for team decisions. - Good communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams. - Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions. - Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams and to provide production support and troubleshoot performance issues. - Facilitate knowledge sharing sessions to enhance team capabilities and to participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment of database changes. - Monitor project progress and ensure timely delivery of milestones and ensure best practices in database design, security, and maintenance. Professional & Technical Skills: - Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Oracle Procedural Language Extensions to SQL (PLSQL). - Strong understanding of database design and optimization techniques. - Experience with application development frameworks and methodologies and with Core Java for application integration or data access logic. - Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and to support legacy automation and reporting scripts written in Perl (basic understanding required) also with SDLC, version control (e.g., Git), and issue tracking tools (e.g., JIRA). - Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently and to design, develop, and optimize complex PL/SQL procedures, packages, functions, and triggers in Oracle databases. - Should be able to analyze and tune SQL queries to improve performance and efficiency. - Ability To develop automation scripts and tools using Python for data processing, ETL tasks, or internal tooling. - Should contribute to backend logic in Core Java, particularly for applications that interface with Oracle databases. - Expert in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and database triggers. Strong understanding of RDBMS concepts, data modeling, and database optimization techniques. - Should have hands-on experience with Python scripting for automation or integration tasks and have Basic working knowledge of Perl (ability to read and debug existing scripts). Additional Information: - The candidate should have minimum 8–10 years of professional experience in software development, with a strong focus on Oracle PL/SQL. - This position is based at our Gurugram office. - A 15 years full time education is required.
