Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Reporting Lead to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in transforming survey data and into comprehensive reports that meet the unique needs of our clients. This position requires advanced knowledge in report generation, managing large datasets, and attention to data quality. Proficiency in Excel and VBA is essential, with the ability to create charts and tables out of data sets and manage VBA code for a large-scale reporting infrastructure. Market research experience is desirable.
This is a fully remote role and you do not need to be based out of Chicago.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze and interpret survey results to generate detailed, automated reports for clients.
- Organize, clean, and manage large datasets, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Develop, automate, and maintain reports using Excel, VBA, and other tools to scale report creation efficiently.
- Automate the generation of large-scale reports, streamlining data processing workflows across multiple datasets and projects.
- Report Automation & Data Management:
- Build automated solutions to generate reports from various data sources, including data files and databases.
- Create advanced Excel formulas (e.g., INDEX-MATCH, ARRAY formulas, SUMIFS, OFFSET, INDIRECT, and XLOOKUP) to build reports.
- Leverage AI tools to create VBA scripts and other code that automates tasks and enhances reporting accuracy.
- Data Quality & QA:
- Ensure data quality by conducting thorough checks and implementing quality assurance measures throughout the reporting process.
- Develop and apply robust quality assurance (QA) practices, ensuring that all reports meet accuracy standards before delivery.
- Regularly review automated workflows and troubleshoot errors to improve the reliability of the reporting process.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand client requirements and deliver customized reporting solutions.
- Present data insights clearly and effectively to both clients and internal stakeholders.
- Train and support junior analysts on report automation, data cleaning, and quality assurance techniques.
- Process Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate and enhance reporting processes to improve automation, accuracy, and scalability.
- Stay updated with industry trends, including the use of AI and machine learning to automate code generation, enhancing reporting tools and processes.
Qualifications
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field. - Experience:
- Multiple years of experience working with Excel and VBA, including creating automated reporting solutions and complex models.
- Proven experience in data analysis, organization, and cleaning, with a track record in report creation with automation.
- Strong understanding of advanced Excel formulas, such as INDEX-MATCH, ARRAY formulas, SUMIFS, OFFSET, INDIRECT, and XLOOKUP.
- Experience in market research and/or experience managing large data files from various sources.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in Excel, including advanced functions, VBA scripting, and report automation.
- Skilled in creating visually appealing charts and tables in MS Office applications to effectively communicate data insights.
- Knowledge of R and/or SPSS statistical packages for advanced data analysis.
- Experience using AI tools to generate code for data manipulation and report generation is a plus.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and remotely while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative mindset, with the ability to contribute effectively as part of a team

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $75,000-$80,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus or commission tied to achieved results.
