As a Customer Relations Specialist Team Lead, you will play a critical role in continuing the healing mission of Deaconess.

Job Overview

Collects information via phone, website, and work queue, to accurately register patients for outpatient services. Verifies insurance eligibility and discusses Advanced Beneficiary notices (ABN) when appropriate. Obtains certification/pre-certification of scheduled outpatient procedures. Ensures compliance of State/Federal regulations. Performs Work Queue functions and queries. Performs follow up on denials. Performs referral functions and queries. Handles phone, fax and email inquiries. Answers correspondence. Performs other logically associated duties that enhance position through Continuous Quality Improvement. Escalates patient to financial counselors when necessary. Communicates with physician's offices when unable to obtain pre-certification to facilitate further qualifying clinical information. Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

High school or GED required. Knowledge of the health care revenue cycle is preferred. Understanding insurance is a plus. One or two years' experience in Nursing or as Patient Access.
