About Us

Dorsia is at the forefront of hospitality-tech innovation, redefining how the world gains access to the most in-demand restaurants, events, and experiences. By fusing cutting-edge technology with the art of luxury hospitality, we empower our members to secure impossible-to-get reservations while providing operators with unprecedented levels of control, visibility, and revenue optimization.

In 2025, we grew revenue 480% and scaled to 400+ venues across 25 destinations, with the launch of our Culture Calendar extending Dorsia beyond restaurants into the world's most sought-after cultural moments.

Backed by $54M in funding from investors including Index Ventures, Invus, and Red Sea Ventures, and strategic partners including MoonPay, Major Food Group, and The Dinex Group / Daniel Boulud, we are entering our most consequential phase of growth and reshaping the global hospitality landscape. We're adding exceptional talent to drive what comes next.

About the Role

Dorsia is seeking a Culture Editor to own our Culture Calendar, a dedicated section of the Dorsia app combining a curated global guide to events in art, fashion, design, architecture, and music with original interviews and features. You’ll identify the events worth our members’ attention, keep listings accurate and current, and develop original coverage for the app, social,  and our monthly Culture Edit newsletter.

You bring strong editorial judgment, a distinct voice, and an established network of artists, designers, musicians, luxury sports figures, and cultural insiders. You’re a versatile writer who can deliver sharp copy, substantive interviews, concise cultural recommendations, party reports, and neighborhood guides with local insight. You know how to find a story, ask informed questions, and move beyond an announcement to explain why something matters. You’re equally comfortable conducting engaging interviews and commissioning a creative to make an exclusive playlist for Dorsia’s Spotify. You know what good looks like.

Dorsia embraces AI and automation across the business. You’ll use these tools throughout your workflow: supporting research, interview preparation, transcription, brainstorming, editing, organization, and repeatable calendar operations. Original editorial will be grounded in your reporting, writing, access, and point of view. You’ll also work closely with product and engineering to improve the systems behind the Culture Calendar.

What You’ll Do

Editorial and Content

  • Pitch, report, and write original interviews, features, and cultural coverage for Dorsia’s app, social, and monthly Culture Edit newsletter, including select collaborations with Surface magazine.
  • Develop timely story ideas through cultural knowledge, relationships, and firsthand reporting, and evaluate incoming editorial opportunities.
  • Secure and conduct interviews that produce fresh insights, specific details, and original material.
  • Evaluate incoming editorial opportunities and pursue the people and stories worth covering.
  • Work with editorial leadership to plan coverage, shape stories, and deliver accurate, publication-ready copy on deadline.

Culture Calendar

  • Own the Culture Calendar’s editorial selection, listings, and ongoing maintenance in Nucleus, Dorsia’s content management system.
  • Track major cultural moments and the exhibitions, openings, performances, and ancillary programming around them, extending coverage beyond Dorsia’s own events.
  • Balance established institutions and tentpole events with emerging voices and discoveries that deserve members’ attention.
  • Research and verify dates, locations, access details, and other essential information, keeping listings current as programming changes.
  • Write and edit concise listings that explain what an event is and why it matters.
  • Set coverage priorities across Dorsia’s markets.

AI and Workflow Development

  • Use AI as a research, brainstorming, and editing partner, and for interview preparation, transcription, and organizing source material.
  • Adopt, configure, and improve AI tools and automated workflows for announcement monitoring, event-detail extraction, tagging, and routine listing preparation.
  • Apply editorial judgment and verification throughout these workflows, taking responsibility for the accuracy and quality of published content.
  • Maintain shared style guidance, source records, and institutional knowledge that make the team’s work more consistent and efficient.
  • Stay curious about new tools and identify practical ways to improve research, production, and calendar maintenance.

Relationships and In-Market Presence

  • Build and maintain relationships with creatives, cultural institutions, publications, and press contacts internationally to secure contributors, surface stories, and identify programming.
  • Attend openings, fairs, fashion weeks, and festivals, bringing firsthand observations and discoveries into Dorsia’s coverage.
  • Travel periodically for reporting and relationship building during key cultural moments.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with product and engineering as a calendar power user, testing functionality, reporting bugs, and recommending improvements to editorial workflows and the member experience.
  • Support business development by identifying relevant cultural programming and partnership opportunities.
  • Work with brand and marketing to adapt editorial coverage across Dorsia’s channels, using automation where it improves production and distribution.
  • Maintain a disciplined editorial schedule and project management system in Notion, keeping events, deadlines, and deliverables on track.
The Winning Recipe
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Art History, Communications, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of editorial experience in culture publishing, luxury media, new media, or a brand editorial team, with the ability to work independently.
  • A portfolio of published cultural reporting that demonstrates original interviews, strong writing, editorial judgment, and a distinct voice.
  • Regular, hands-on use of AI and automation in editorial work, with examples of how you’ve applied these tools to improve your work
  • An established network that helps you secure interviews and contributors, discover stories, and understand cultural scenes in multiple international cities.
  • Deep knowledge of one or more of our core disciplines across art, fashion, design, architecture, and music, with a curiosity across the others.
  • The ability to distinguish a compelling story from a promotional announcement and explain its relevance to Dorsia’s members.
  • Experience managing an events calendar, listings database, or content catalog with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Fluency in Notion and comfort working in a content management system, including testing features and communicating issues to product and engineering.
  • Strong project management skills and clear, confident communication with creatives, partners, and colleagues.
  • An active presence in cultural communities and willingness to travel periodically for reporting and key events.

Workplace Philosophy at Dorsia

At Dorsia, we believe that culture eats strategy. The best ideas in the world mean nothing without the right people around the table and the right chemistry between them. We are, unapologetically, a people-first organization.

In-Person Matters

We’re creating once-in-a-lifetime experiences for the most discerning audience in the world. That doesn’t happen over Zoom. It happens through collisions: a spark across a desk, a kitchen-side conversation that unlocks a partnership, the energy of ideas felt, not typed. That’s why in-office culture is non-negotiable at Dorsia.

Who We Hire

We don’t subscribe to check-the-box hiring. We hire for merit and mindset, which naturally creates a team with varied backgrounds. What unites us isn’t demographics, it’s a shared vision: to build the social operating system for the cultural vanguard.

Lifestyle Hours

We’re not a 9-to-5 company. Our lifestyle mirrors our members. Early flights, after-work events, and late-night sprints when the work demands it. But we love what we do, and we definitely love a good party.

High Performance Culture

Working at Dorsia isn’t for everyone—and that’s the point. Our culture is designed for builders, not passengers. We move fast, set ambitious standards, and expect people to rise to them. If you have the talent and the drive, this will be a ride to remember.

A Final Word

We’re building something special. It will take long hours and relentless effort. It’s not for everyone. For those with the metabolism, you’ll create something that changes how culture is lived. And that’s the kind of work worth your life’s energy.

What We Do

The process of restaurant discovery, booking, and payments is broken. We’re here to change that. We’re building frictionless technology that optimizes revenue for restaurants and experiences for members, and we’re on a mission to overhaul the culture and economy of the hospitality industry along the way. Developed by proven leaders across hospitality, media, and consumer-tech, Dorsia’s revenue optimization model solves supply-and-demand inefficiencies in the restaurant industry by mutually guaranteeing tables for diners and revenue for restaurants. By bridging dynamic pricing and seamless processes, Dorsia is creating a curated marketplace where it hasn’t existed before, powering the most coveted restaurants of our time. We are currently in the Beta launch phase in New York City and The Hamptons, with plans to expand to Miami, Los Angeles, and additional culinary cities this Fall.
