The Role

We’re seeking an exceptional engineering leader with both technical depth and proven experience in guiding teams to success. As CTO, you'll lead our engineering department while remaining hands-on with coding and technical problem-solving. This role is for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment and is excited to contribute directly to the codebase while shaping the future of our technology. If you're not willing to both head the team, as well as code day to day, this role is not for you.

About Audience Republic:

Audience Republic is an all-in-one CRM and marketing platform for events, venues, artists, and creators. Our clients include some of the world’s most renowned names, with events featuring artists like Justin Bieber, Post Malone, RÜFÜS DU SOL, ODESZA, and Flume.

We are a rapidly growing B2B SaaS startup, having secured $12M in funding. Our headquarters is located in Sydney, with other roles distributed across North America and UK/Europe. This role is onsite at our Redfern office.

The Role:

As CTO, you will lead our engineering function and work closely with our Chief Architect to refine and implement our technical strategy, along with our Engineering Managers to drive day to day execution of our roadmap. This role requires a focus on delivering commercial outcomes and maximizing customer value through our products. As a key member of our executive leadership team, you will guide the engineering organization to ensure alignment with business goals while fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.


Responsibilities:

Technical Strategy & Leadership:

  • Develop and execute a technology strategy that aligns with Audience Republic’s business objectives, in partnership with the Chief Architect and other executives.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Architect, who owns our technical direction, on critical architectural decisions, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.

Product & Customer Focus:

  • Work closely with design and customer success teams to ensure our technology solutions deliver maximum value to customers.
  • Lead the engineering team in prioritizing and delivering features that align with our commercial goals and enhance the customer experience.
  • Regularly engage with customers to understand their needs and translate them into actionable engineering priorities.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop Engineering Managers and their teams, fostering a high-performance culture that reflects the company’s values.
  • Spearhead recruitment efforts to attract and retain top engineering talent, building a world-class engineering team.
  • Implement and uphold best practices in software development, quality assurance, and continuous delivery.

Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee the end-to-end execution of the product roadmap, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Establish and monitor key engineering metrics to measure employee happiness, productivity, quality, and team performance.
  • Ensure robust processes are in place for incident management, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement.

Innovation & Growth:

  • Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities for innovation that drive business growth.
  • Foster a culture of experimentation and continuous learning within the engineering team, encouraging innovation and improvement.
  • Guide the team in scaling our systems to handle growing demand, ensuring reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a CTO role, preferably within a technology-driven startup environment.
  • Demonstrated success in leading engineering teams to develop customer-focused products that drive commercial success.
  • Strong technical background with experience in scaling systems including large-scale production environments.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
