TIME LIMITED: 12/31/2027 (extension depending upon 3-year grant funding)

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
Reporting to the CSI Operations Supervisor, Analysis Center, and working out of the CSI Analysis Center, the CSI Intelligence Analyst will collect, monitor, analyze, and disseminate open-source information with a threat nexus to the Jewish community in the Los Angeles and surrounding regions. The CSI Intelligence Analyst is responsible for the production of intelligence products, as well as the regular monitoring of online open sources for potential security and operational threats.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
• Conduct regular monitoring of online open sources and social media for known and potential threats to community security and organizational reputation.
• Produce actionable intelligence products in a timely manner on threat actors targeting regional Jewish community.
• Conduct research on wide range of issues pertaining to regional security, such as: terrorism, hate groups, crime trends, disruptive protests, weather conditions, natural disasters, reputational concerns, as well as socio-economic dynamics.
• Monitor, collect, vet and disseminate regional information and intelligence to CSI staff and partner Jewish institutions.
• Utilize structured analytic techniques to recognize trends, patterns, and potential emerging threats to the regional Jewish community.
• Conduct presentations on various topics of concern to CSI Analysis Center and other pertinent stakeholders.
• Monitor critical event management platform for situational awareness alerts affecting Jewish institutions in catchment area and respond appropriately.
• Keep meticulous records of incidents, entities, and any associated data through corresponding case management platform.
• Liaise with local, national, and international Jewish community security groups.
• Stand duty as off-hours CSI Duty Officer as assigned, taking incident reports, monitoring situational awareness alerts, and processing associated emergency alert notifications.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
Be available to supervisor for additional assignments, as required, including assisting with the Campaign.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR POSITION:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Regional Studies, Strategic Studies, International Relations, Political Science, Economics or equivalent military/professional intelligence training.
• Minimum 3+ years’ academic or professional experience in intelligence analysis, research, and development of intelligence products/reports.
• Knowledge of foreign and domestic violent extremists and threat landscape facing the Jewish community.
• Strong familiarity with all major social media platforms, both mainstream and alternative.
• Experience conducting OSINT collection in gaming, messaging, and live-streaming platforms a plus.
• Knowledge of Jewish community in the Greater Los Angeles region a plus.
• Experience with investigative and risk management tools desired.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with experience collecting and analyzing data to produce notifications, assessments, and reports.
• Excellent time management, communication, technical writing, presentation, and organizational skills required.
• Must be flexible and possess the ability to function in demanding environment.
• A dependable team player with business maturity, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, CEM platforms, case management, and analytical/data mining software.
• A hybrid work model will be implemented for certain positions. This position must report to the worksite on non-remote workdays, as determined by the Federation.
