Job summary
As a Credit Support Associate in credit compliance monitoring, you assess borrower compliance with credit agreement terms across an assigned portfolio. You interpret financial and other covenants, set up and maintain monitoring requirements in systems of record, and perform calculations to evaluate whether borrowers are meeting agreement terms. You partner with internal stakeholders to resolve documentation questions and support strong operational risk discipline.
Job responsibilities
- Set up reporting requirements and financial covenants for new credit agreements and executed documents in systems of record
- Translate legal and structural terms into operational monitoring requirements for ongoing compliance
- Conduct periodic reviews and continuous monitoring of borrower financial covenants and collateral based on agreement requirements
- Interpret complex credit agreements and related legal documents to identify required parties (e.g., co-borrowers, guarantors) for accurate system setup and monitoring
- Review documentation and monitor compliance for bilateral agreements and syndicated loans across multiple lending institutions
- Calculate cash flow, leverage ratios, and required covenant values in accordance with specific agreement terms
- Perform borrowing base calculations and reconciliations for secured lending cases
- Validate collateral support documentation (e.g., accounts receivable aging, inventory listings, ineligible summaries) against defined requirements
- Compare executed credit agreements to the corresponding approvals and term sheets to verify alignment and escalate discrepancies
- Follow documented quality control standards and service level commitments for the process
- Partner with credit, risk, and operations teams to resolve discrepancies and clarify documentation and operational requirements
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- 4 years of experience in credit monitoring, credit administration, credit review, or loan operations within commercial, business, or investment banking environments
- Experience reviewing and interpreting credit agreements and syndicated loan structures
- Knowledge of common facility and product types (e.g., revolving credit facilities, term loans, letters of credit, bridge loans, asset-based structures)
- Ability to translate legal documentation into operational requirements and maintain accurate setup in systems of record
- Experience performing covenant calculations (e.g., cash flow and leverage ratios) based on agreement-defined methodologies
- Experience performing borrowing base calculations and reconciliations for secured lending cases
- Experience validating collateral support documentation (e.g., accounts receivable aging, inventory listings, ineligible summaries)
- Ability to identify and resolve documentation discrepancies through effective cross-functional partnering
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel
