As Credit Risk Management Governance Lead - Vice President, you will help the firm grow its business in a responsible way by anticipating new and emerging risks and using your expert judgement to solve real-world challenges that impact our company, customers, and communities. You will strengthen the Private Bank credit risk governance framework by maintaining and enhancing policies, procedures, controls, committee governance, and issues management, as well as coordinate internal, external, and regulatory examinations, and provide constructive, independent challenge to stakeholders across locations and seniority levels. The Wealth Management Risk Management Governance team manages Risk policies, due diligence reviews, adherence to regulatory requirements, and internal controls for Global WM Credit Risk. The team collaborates closely with the Global Credit Risk approval and analysis team, Audit, Compliance, Controls, Legal and Business partners to ensure efficient and effective process are in place.
Job Responsibilities:
• Drive Risk governance initiatives and change management.
• Support external regulatory examinations, internal audits, and independent reviews of the Credit Risk function and associated remediation.
• Partner with Wholesale Credit Risk and other Lines of Business in the firm to understand and benchmark Wealth Management processes.
• Evaluate Credit Risk controls and provide clear, well-supported observations and recommendations to stakeholders. Ensure timely remediation and sustainable control improvements for issues.
• Maintain a high standard of documentation, professionalism, and confidentiality while working with sensitive client and firm information.
• Contribute to special projects/initiatives that enhance the Credit Risk Governance program, reporting, and risk coverage.
• Identify material credit risks and assess their impact on Risk.
• Clearly define and document roles between business execution (1LOD), risk oversight (2LOD), and audit (3LOD).
• Perform risk assessment to address and appropriately escalate and remediate issues.
• Provide transparency into emerging risks and governance matters.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
• 5+ years of experience in Auditing, Accounting, Internal Control, and/or Credit Analysis, with a focus on Credit Risk with Bachelor in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Strong knowledge of financial principles and procedures; demonstrated background in the Financial Services industry.
• Working understanding of credit risks and related controls.
• Ability to follow complex methods and procedures across diverse tasks and product types.
• Experience with Credit Risk infrastructure tools and applications (e.g., iCRD, Loan IQ, Connect, LLM, etc.).
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Highest level of professionalism; proven ability to manage highly confidential information appropriately.
• Strong time management, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively; shares information and supports colleagues.
• Flexibility and ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
• Self-motivated and detail oriented with a willingness to take ownership of new projects/initiatives.
