JOB TITLE: Credit Data Modeler
LOCATION: 1 Optum Circle, Eden Prairie, MN, 55344 (Telecommuting available from anywhere in the U.S.)
DUTIES: Develop and maintain predictive models for application and behavioral scoring, probability of default (PD), loss given default (LGD), and early risk detection; design models for underwriting, fraud detection, credit line management, and collections strategies; create advanced features using alternative financial data sources; evaluate new data vendors and enrich internal datasets to improve model performance; decipher models from prototype to production in partnership with Data Engineering and Product teams; build interpretable and compliant models aligned with FCRA, ECOA, and fair lending standards; oversee model monitoring, validation, reporting and back testing, regularly recalibrate for shifts in macroeconomic conditions or borrower behavior; work with cross-functional teams to integrate model outputs into strategy; and communicate insights clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Telecommuting is available from anywhere in the U.S.
REQUIREMENTS: Employer will accept a Master's degree in Statistics, Computational Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field and 24 months of experience in the job offered or in a data modeler - related occupation.
Experience must include:
* Python;
* R;
* SQL;
* Tableau/Power BI;
* Credit risk modeling;
* Machine learning including gradient boosting, neural networks and random forest; and
* Loss forecasting modeling including PD, LGD and EAD.
RATE OF PAY: $156,309 - $261,576 / per year
