Job Description:
This job is responsible for supporting credit underwriting and monitoring for moderately complex client relationships. Key responsibilities include completing and reviewing credit analysis, evaluating risks, and preparing financial analysis using advanced tools and systems. Job expectations include assessing financials, projections, industry data, covenant compliance, collateral, and policy requirements to ensure alignment with the bank’s risk appetite.

Global Markets Credit ("GMC") is responsible for ensuring robust and consistent credit underwriting for Global Markets lending and trading activities.

• This role is primarily focused on financing facilities secured by credit related and other corporate assets as well as establishing and maintain trading limits to support the purchase and sale of corporate loans.

• Within GMC, the Analyst will be expected to develop subject matter expertise in US credit and CLO related financing products and perform credit and structural analysis of proposed transactions. The Analyst or Associate will work closely with other team members, FLU, and risk partners and help drive loan growth and ensure robust portfolio management with minimal oversight.

• Coverage will include a portfolio of warehouse facilities, CLOs, advance rate secured loans, and loan trading lines.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes client financial information, identification/mitigation of potential risks, compliance with regulatory requirements and evaluation of collateral in determination of credit worthiness
  • Completes monitoring activities via analysis of clients’ financial performance and collateral evaluation to ensure appropriate requirements are met
  • Listens in to client meetings to develop a deeper understanding of the client's business, management team, and past and future performance
  • Reviews completed client requests to ensure compliance with policy and procedures
  • Understands how credit data is used internally and provided to regulatory partners
  • Assists with periodic portfolio reviews
  • Participates in loan structure conversations and completion of loan documentation
  • Review new business opportunities being presented by the front line, provide early feedback on structure/terms and client selection in the screening process to ensure transactions fit within risk appetite
  • Partner with front line unit and credit officers to structure, underwrite, and document credit solutions for clients and ensure robust ongoing monitoring. Escalate and debate key findings when appropriate.
  • Preparation of underwriting materials, creation and submission of credit approval memos, and securing appropriate credit and risk approvals.
  • •Assess the credit worthiness and loan and trading counterparties and maintain limits supporting trading activity
  • •Establish appropriate internal risk ratings for counterparties and implement accurate adjustments throughout the client's credit life cycle
  • •Engage partners including other parts of Enterprise Credit, client coverage areas, legal, and market risk as required
  • •Support firm-wide Enterprise Credit initiatives including adherence with operational and governance processes and liaise with applicable stakeholders across the firm on emerging topics

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in Corporate/Commercial credit risk management, credit underwriting, structuring, loan origination, or public rating agencies.
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance and accounting concepts
  • Must have strong analytical skills
  • •Proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint, along with ability to quickly learn new programs and applications

Pay and benefits information

Pay range$90,000.00 - $105,000.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan.
