The Role

Summary

The Credit & Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing the timely collection of customer payments in accordance with established invoice terms. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of assigned customer accounts, proactively identifies and resolves issues that may delay payment processing, and supports the financial health of the organization through diligent account management and risk mitigation. Will also focus on overall monitoring of financial risk to the company by reviewing credit for potential and current clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Onboarding Support:

  • Analyzes credit reports to determine and approve credit limits for new and existing customers.

  • Sets up customer IDs and complete onboarding documentation in accordance with customer requirements.

  • Manages customer portal access and ensure seamless onboarding experience.

Credit & Collections Operations:

  • Assists the Credit & Collections Manager with managing credit queues, resolving credit holds, and preparing ad hoc reports.

  • Monitors delinquent accounts and initiate collection actions based on invoice due dates and outstanding balances.

  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date account notes and customer activity reports.

  • Communicates regularly with sales and sales support teams regarding customer account status and collection efforts.

  • Processes customer account adjustments including credits, rebills, and refunds.

  • Conducts thorough research to resolve collection issues and maintain accurate records of collection activities.

  • Refers uncollectible accounts to the Credit & Collection Manager to minimize financial losses.

Compliance & Customer Service:

  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to the organization’s mission and values through professional and ethical behavior.

  • Maintains current knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.

  • Provides exceptional customer service in all interactions, ensuring positive experience for internal and external stakeholders.

Education/Experience/Technical Requirements/Certification

Equivalent combination accepted.

Experience / Technical Requirements

  • 1-3 years’ experience in a related area.

  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Office applications.

Certifications

  • None

  • Detail oriented, self-starter with excellent organizational, administrative and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to complete all assigned tasks and projects with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to multi-task and work in fast-paced environment.

  • Exceptional communication skills – verbal and written.

  • Ability to successfully work as a team environment and independently/remotely.

Salary Compensation Range:  $50,000 to $60,000
