About the Role

As a Creative Technologist you’ll act as the bridge between creative vision and technical execution.You will combine strong creative sensibilities with deep technical expertise to prototype, build, and deliver innovative digital experiences — from interactive installations and web platforms to AI-driven campaigns and emerging tech explorations. This role is ideal for someone fluent in both storytelling and technology — capable of brainstorming with creatives and speaking code with developers.

* This temporary role is expected to run through December 20th, 2025, with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs.

* Expected to work a schedule consistent with the Eastern Time Zone (ET).

* Hourly rate: CAD $119/hour

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with creative, design, and production teams to conceptualize and prototype interactive ideas.
  • Translate creative concepts into functional prototypes using technologies such as ComfyUI, WebGL, Unity, Unreal, Three.js, and generative AI tools.
  • Explore and implement emerging technologies (AI, AR/VR, spatial computing, real-time rendering, computer vision, voice interaction, etc.).
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure creative fidelity and feasibility throughout the production process.
  • Participate in pitches and client presentations, translating technical possibilities into inspiring creative language.
  • Maintain awareness of trends in digital media, creative technology, and interactive design.
  • Build internal tools, frameworks, or reusable components that accelerate creative experimentation.
  • Help guide creative teams on the practical potential and constraints of technology choices.
About YouThe essentials:
  • 5+ years of experience in creative technology, interactive development, or digital innovation.
  • Strong prototyping and coding skills (JavaScript, Python, C#, or similar).
  • Hands-on experience with real-time engines (Unity, Unreal) or web frameworks (Three.js, React, WebXR).
  • Familiarity with AI creative tools (ComfyUI, OpenAI, Runway, Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of UX principles and experience design.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills — both technical and conceptual.
  • Comfort working in multidisciplinary teams and translating between creative and engineering mindsets.
  • A strong portfolio of innovative digital or interactive work.
Not a must, but a plus:
  • Experience with sensors, hardware integration, or IoT.
  • Experience in generative art, data visualization, or creative coding environments (Processing, p5.js, TouchDesigner).
  • Understanding of 3D workflows (Blender, Houdini, Cinema4D).
  • Background in advertising, experiential design, or digital production.

Monks has provided an hourly rate that represents its good faith estimate of what Monks may pay for the position at the time of posting. Monks may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The rate offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on job-related factors, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
