Job Description

The Creative Strategist is responsible for leading the development, messaging strategy, and execution of high-performing creative across paid media and direct response channels. This role translates marketing objectives, audience insights, and performance data into compelling creative campaigns designed to drive customer acquisition and engagement while maintaining brand consistency.

The Creative Strategist partners closely with Marketing Strategy, Media, CRM, Analytics, internal creative teams, and external agency partners to develop, execute, test, and continuously optimize campaign creative across multiple channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end development and execution of creative assets for paid media and direct response campaigns, including digital display, paid social, search support assets, direct mail, and email, ensuring messaging, design, and offers are optimized for acquisition performance while maintaining brand consistency.
  • Execute creative messaging strategies for campaigns, translating marketing objectives, audience insights, and customer needs into clear, compelling, and differentiated creative.
  • Develop and author full-funnel strategic creative briefs that define campaign objectives, target audiences, messaging frameworks, offers, calls-to-action, and channel-specific requirements to guide internal teams and external agency partners.
  • Partner closely with Marketing Strategy, Media, and CRM teams to align creative concepts with channel strategy and ensure creative formats, messaging, and calls-to-action are optimized for each channel.
  • Guide the development of creative concepts and executions, providing strategic direction and actionable feedback to improve clarity, customer relevance, brand alignment, and conversion performance.
  • Manage the production and execution of campaign assets across channels, coordinating timelines, production workflows, feedback cycles, approvals, and final asset delivery.
  • Ensure creative quality, accuracy, and brand alignment while supporting the delivery of campaigns on time and within budget.
  • Leverage campaign performance data and customer insights to continuously refine creative and identify opportunities to improve messaging, offers, formats, and design.
  • Lead creative development for testing and optimization initiatives, partnering with Marketing Strategy, Media, and CRM teams to understand objectives, execute A/B and other creative tests, and apply learnings to future campaigns.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external agencies to ensure seamless development and delivery of creative assets.
  • Establish and maintain creative execution best practices and processes, including creative briefing standards, asset management, creative review frameworks, campaign documentation, and test-and-learn methodologies.
  • Stay current on creative, digital marketing, direct response, and channel trends to identify opportunities to improve campaign effectiveness and customer engagement.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 5–8 years of experience in marketing, creative campaign development, creative strategy, or performance marketing, preferably within an acquisition-focused environment.
  • Experience developing and executing creative for paid media and direct response channels, including digital display, paid social, email, and direct mail.
  • Experience collaborating with creative teams, designers, copywriters, media teams, CRM teams, and/or external agencies to develop high-quality campaign assets.
  • Demonstrated experience managing the end-to-end production of marketing assets, including timelines, feedback cycles, approvals, and delivery.

  • Strong creative and strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate marketing objectives and audience insights into effective creative execution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop clear, comprehensive creative briefs and articulate creative direction.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and production workflows simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret campaign performance data and customer insights and translate findings into creative recommendations.
  • Ability to provide clear, constructive creative direction and feedback to internal teams and external agency partners.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to creative quality, accuracy, and brand consistency.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across Marketing Strategy, Media, CRM, Analytics, Product Marketing, and Creative teams.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting customer acquisition, growth marketing, or performance marketing programs.
  • Experience developing creative across multiple paid media and direct response channels.
  • Experience with creative briefing, digital asset management systems, project management platforms, and marketing workflow tools.
  • Experience working within a test-and-learn environment and applying creative performance insights to future campaign development.
  • Experience in telecommunications, technology, subscription-based services, or other consumer-focused industries.
  • Physical Demands & Work Conditions
  • This position primarily involves work in an office or remote environment and requires the ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
  • The role may require participation in meetings, presentations, and collaborative working sessions, both virtually and in person.
