Country Sales Manager, IndiaAbout Viamo

About the role

You will be our senior sales leader in India and a passionate ambassador within the Digital for Development movement. Your role is to expand, develop, service, and grow the relationships with resellers to state governments across India. This role includes supporting and executing sales strategies and supporting the training of the resellers' sales teams and reseller managers on Viamo's solutions. The Country Sales Manager contributes to the revenue growth of the country and manages the resellers' growth targets. Read more about Viamo’s suite of solutions here.

Key Responsibilities

Grow Viamo's business through the management of supervised resellers and reseller managers. This includes: 

  • Knowledge transfer to resellers in sales and product skills to make them efficient and successful in developing their given potential market.
  • Collaborate with sales teams of resellers to understand customer requirements and provide sales support.
  • Contribute to sales presentations to various target accounts.
  • Support and execute demonstrations/pitches with resellers.
  • Support in exhibitions or workshops.
  • Support and execute given sales strategy for resellers.
  • Identify weaknesses and develop improvement plans.
  • Support in business development/lead generation for resellers.
  • Sales funnel management for dedicated resellers (Includes opportunity management in CRM system).
  • Expansion of the reseller network by identifying and onboarding suitable partners.
  • Expansion of the reseller sales team by identifying and onboarding reseller managers
  • Support order fulfillment, e.g., open payments/project delivery, by coordinating with Viamo's Customer Success Manager(s) and Delivery and Finance teams internally.
  • Reseller's payout management 
  • Government liaisoning in the assigned territory.

Additional Responsibilities

Spend approximately 10% of your time supporting the cross-functional Country Crew to: 

  • Delight our partners with quality, timely execution of program deliverables Maintain relationships with Mobile Network Operators to ensure the infrastructure and agreements are in place to connect with all mobile phones in the country
  • Represent the organization to national government agencies and ensure organizational compliance with national regulatory bodies.

  • Bookings: Margin value of secured contracts, including new and repeat business

  • Experience of 10+ years in managing resellers/channel partners in the B2B segment. 
  • Proven sales/business development success, with a history of appointing new channel partners/ resellers and achieving sales targets.
  • Proven partnership-building skills, with a history of success and active networks in government verticals - State and/or Central government in India.
  • Experience securing contracts from governmental organizations through resellers/ channel partners.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and proven experience in co-developing ideas with partners. 
  • Leadership skills, including intercultural sensitivity and a passion for unleashing the potential of resellers. 
  • Demonstrated self-management, skills, adaptability and resourcefulness
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of Government tendering processes/ e tenders.


  • Experience in selling digital products/understanding of IVR and related technologies such as voice.
    • Fluency in a few/any regional languages of India like Hindi/Marathi/Gujarati
    • Knowledge of Government contracts process and RFPs.
    • Exposure to CRM tools like Hubspot / SalesForce.
