Responsibilities and duties
1.Complete and report relevant analysis reports according to customer requirements
2.Research and investigate cost parameters and technical parameters
3.Execute product cost calculation and provide cost optimization ideas or target cost
4.Timely coordinate to solve problems to ensure project normal delivery
KEY MEASURES & INDICATORS (main KPIs used in the role)
1.Generate technical insights report, costing calculation and report, DtC/VAVE ideas and report as per the tasks assigned by manager and according to required quality standards
Requirements
Qualifications and skills
1. More than 2 to 5 years of experience/knowledge in the following domains, with experience in Product Development, Cost Engineering, Purchasing, SQE/STA, Lean Manufacturing, or Value Engineering:
· Seat Systems: Complete Seat Assemblies, Seat Frames, Foam, Trim Covers, Headrests, Armrests, Seat Tracks, Recliners, Adjusters, Lumbar Systems, Seat Comfort Features (Heating, Ventilation, Massage), Seat Electronics.
· Soft Trim Systems: Headliner, Carpet, Luggage Trim, Package Tray, Interior Garnishes, Acoustic & NVH Components.
2. Strong knowledge of manufacturing technologies and cost drivers for the following domains:
· Seat Systems: Metal Stamping, Tube Forming, Welding (MIG/Resistance/Laser), Foam Molding, Polyurethane (PU) Processing, Sewing, Cutting, Embroidery, Leather/Fabric Wrapping, Plastic Injection Molding, Die Casting, Assembly Processes, Seat Electronics Manufacturing, Manufacturing Costing.
· Soft Trim Systems: Plastic Injection Molding, Slush Molding, Vacuum Forming (Thermoforming), Compression Molding, Blow Molding, Foam Backing, Lamination, Sewing, Wrapping, Decorative Surface Technologies (IMD/IML, Hydrographics, Painting, Chrome Plating), Ultrasonic Welding, Adhesive Bonding, Assembly Processes, Manufacturing Costing.
3.Experience on BOM cost calculation or VAVE from supplier chain, material and manufacturing process
4.English written & oral, overseas study experience is a plus
5.Bachelor or above degree in mechanical, electronics, industrial engineering or related area
6.Good communication skills and teamwork spirit
7.Strong adaptability and flexibility, innovative spirit
Skills Required
- 2-5 years experience in Product Development, Cost Engineering, Purchasing, SQE/STA, Lean Manufacturing, or Value Engineering
- Experience with Seat Systems (complete assemblies, frames, foam, trim covers, headrests, armrests, tracks, recliners, adjusters, lumbar, comfort features, seat electronics)
- Experience with Soft Trim Systems (headliner, carpet, luggage trim, package tray, interior garnishes, acoustic & NVH components)
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing technologies and cost drivers for seat and soft-trim domains (stamping, forming, molding, sewing, injection molding, die casting, lamination, etc.)
- Experience in BOM cost calculation and VAVE from supplier chain, material and manufacturing process
- English proficiency (written and oral)
- Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical, Electronics, Industrial Engineering or related field
- Good communication skills and teamwork
- Strong adaptability, flexibility and innovative mindset
- Overseas study experience
