You will play a key role in overseeing cost planning, control and commercial performance across nationally significant D&B infrastructure projects in Ireland including metro, aviation, rail, water and highway schemes.

Your new role
As Cost Manager, you will be responsible for managing cost and commercial activities across major infrastructure projects in Ireland. You will provide robust cost planning, forecasting and reporting, ensuring that projects are delivered within approved budgets while maintaining value for money.
You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams, supporting decision-making through accurate cost data and analysis, while ensuring alignment with contract requirements and project objectives.
Working pattern
Hybrid role requiring office and site attendance as required, with a majority of projects delivered in and around Dublin.
Your key responsibilities will be:
Managing project cost control processes, including budgeting, forecasting and reporting
Developing and maintaining cost estimates, cost plans and cash flow forecasts
Monitoring project expenditure and performance against approved budgets
Supporting procurement activities, including cost input to tendering and contract evaluation
Administering and managing contracts in line with agreed commercial frameworks (e.g. NEC4)
Assessing and managing change, including variations, compensation events and claims
Providing cost advice and commercial insight to project teams and stakeholders
Contributing to risk management processes, including cost risk analysis and contingency management
Supporting value engineering and cost optimisation initiatives
Coordinating cost reporting and ensuring robust governance and audit trails
Liaising with contractors and stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment on commercial matters
About you
Experience in cost management or quantity surveying on major infrastructure or construction projects (e.g. metro, aviation, rail, water and highways schemes)
Strong understanding of cost planning, estimating, and cost control processes
Experience working with standard forms of contract (e.g. NEC4) and commercial management practices
Ability to manage budgets, forecasts and financial reporting in complex project environments
Experience supporting procurement and tender evaluation processes
Understanding of change management, including assessment of variations and claims
Good analytical skills, with attention to detail and the ability to interpret cost data effectively
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Proactive and organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Degree in quantity surveying, commercial management, engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. RICS, ACostE, CICES, PMI, APM or equivalent). Chartership (MRICS or equivalent) is preferable
