Responsibilities:
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes by preparing and reviewing journal entries related to accruals, deferrals, reclasses as well as recurring entries.
- Record and reconcile advances to suppliers, prepaids, payroll expense and other monthly accruals.
- Generate and analyze financial reports to support period-end reporting and audit requirements, including roll forward schedule.
- Create, support, and present key reports for management to help drive timely business decisions.
- Compile inventory reports monthly from multiple sources and identify variances from SAP.
- Assist with Job Process reconciliations.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations to analyze the completeness and accuracy of financial accounts in line with accounting standards as well as internal controls and compliance guidelines.
- Maintain clear documentation to support financial movements in inventory.
- Collaborate with other groups within the accounting function and supply chain.
- Participate and give input related to process improvement efforts across accounting and supply chain activities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business, or related programs
- 3+ years of recent experience as a Cost Accountant, corporate accountant, or similar role
- Hands-on SAP FI/CO experience, including use of SAP T-Codes for cost analysis, inventory reconciliation, and financial reporting
- Experience with US GAAP and internal controls / SOX Compliance
- Hands on experience with enterprise software applications
- Advanced Excel proficiency: Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, SUMIF, Power Query, and financial modeling
- Strong communication skills and ability to present financial data effectively
- Detail oriented
- Inquisitive approach to process improvement and financial performance improvement
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in manufacturing plants (e.g.: Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Fermentation).
- Prior experience with cost analysis (actuals vs. budget, prior year, standard costs).
- Experience with gross margin analysis by product.
- Experience of managing prepaids/advances and payroll & benefits.
