As a Corrosion Technical Support Specialist, you will deliver hands‑on technical support for Potter’s corrosion‑mitigation products, focusing on IntelliGen™ nitrogen generators, IntelliPurge® devices, air maintenance equipment, analyzers, controls, and related accessories used in dry and preaction sprinkler systems. You’ll guide contractors, technicians, distributors, engineers, facility teams, and internal partners through installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and parts identification while diagnosing whether issues stem from equipment faults, installation errors, incoming power, environmental conditions, or connected sprinkler‑system performance. Ready to jump in and make an impact? Apply today.
What You’ll Do- Provide prompt technical support for Potter corrosion‑mitigation and fire suppression products through phone, email, virtual meetings, and occasional on‑site assistance.
- Lead structured troubleshooting by gathering generator model details, serial numbers, date codes, alarm or maintenance messages, operating pressures, cycle times, runtime, leak rates, nitrogen purity readings, maintenance history, and supporting photos or video.
- Diagnose complex mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, electronic‑control, communication, and application issues involving compressors, pressure switches, regulators, solenoid valves, filters, condensate drains, membrane separators, tanks, sensors, power supplies, controllers, displays, and purge valves.
- Guide qualified field personnel through safe installation, startup, commissioning, functionality testing, system filling and purging, programming, network setup, preventive maintenance, and equipment isolation in alignment with Potter documentation.
- Use controller history, remote‑monitoring data, wiring and piping diagrams, pressure and purity measurements, and isolation tests to determine whether issues originate from the generator, accessories, incoming power, installation, site environment, or the connected sprinkler system.
- Support application questions related to dry and preaction sprinkler systems, air or nitrogen maintenance, system capacity, leak rate, purge performance, corrosion mitigation, and equipment operating conditions.
- Identify compatible replacement parts and maintenance items by model, date code, product generation, and component version; coordinate warranty, RMA, replacement, and field‑service needs as required.
- Document troubleshooting steps, measurements, decisions, parts recommendations, follow‑up actions, and final resolutions accurately within the CRM system.
- Analyze recurring product or application trends and escalate complex, safety‑related, or unresolved issues to Product Management, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or Sales with clear evidence and recommended next steps.
