Qualifications

We are looking for an Associate with 3 to 5 years of experience to join the technology practice at top law firm. The candidate will be a resident in either the New York or Washington, DC office. 

  • Candidates should have strong transactional experience drafting and negotiating technology transaction agreements with an emphasis on payment acceptance terms; due diligence and drafting of mergers/acquisitions agreements.
  • Experience and familiarity with compliance and issue-spotting on various consumer-facing financial sector regulatory issues, such as Gramm Leach Bliley, Fair Credit Reporting Act/FACTA, Truth in Lending Act.
  • In addition, the candidate must have familiarity with general consumer protection rules, including state data breach rules and drafting of notification letters, data privacy/security matters.
  • Familiarity with or willingness to become more familiar with money transmission and blockchain and/or digital currency issues is a plus.

The ideal candidate should be a highly motivated, dynamic, and creative individual with outstanding interpersonal skills and above all a team player. The candidate must possess strong academic credentials, excellent legal research and superb writing and oral communications skills. This position offers the candidate the opportunity to assume significant responsibility, work directly with clients and be an integral member of a vibrant team.  Must be admitted to the New York State or Washington, D.C.Bar.
