As a Climate Expert at Otto International, you will play a crucial role in advancing our climate and environmental protection initiatives. You will support us, our customers and suppliers in reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the supply chain and collaborate closely with our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Team. This local role involves providing on-site energy- and climate-related services to our factories in India, contributing to the success of our company’s efforts to reduce emissions in the supply chain and working towards the achievement of Otto International’s and the Otto Group’s climate targets.
How will you make a difference?
- Offer first-level on-site support for factories on climate/energy related questions
- Support energy data collection, verification and calculation support for factories
- Conduct regular onsite visits to factories to determine status quo of existing energy and GHG reduction measures and define potential for improvement
- Support development as well as monitoring and follow up of action plans
- Prepare recommendations for implementation of efficiency measures e.g. process optimization
- Set-up factory monitoring, provide regular reporting and address challenges where necessary
- Conduct trainings where necessary
- Promote use of renewable energy (RE) to factories; conduct research into local RE providers
- Stay updated with the latest regulations, trends and advancements in energy and GHG management and propose innovative solutions where applicable
- Collaborate with stakeholders to promote and translate climate targets, strategic measures and requirements for facilities
- Work closely with CSR team to ensure effective alignment with the Otto Group companies’ climate targets
