The Corporate OPEX Lean IE is a key leadership role responsible for driving Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives across the site and acting as a change agent to build a culture of operational excellence, innovation, and efficiency.

This position leads and develops the Industrial Engineering, Materials Management, and Packaging Engineering teams, ensuring strong cross-functional collaboration to streamline processes, optimize operations, and support business growth.

The role plays a critical part in the deployment and sustainment of the Stoneridge Production System (SPS), ensuring alignment with corporate standards, strategic objectives, and best-in-class Lean manufacturing practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Continuous Improvement and Lean Implementation:

Drive a strong culture of Continuous improvement using Lean principles and process innovation.
Identify, prioritize, and lead process improvement opportunities using Lean tools and methodologies.
Facilitate and sustain 5S activities across manufacturing and support areas.
Provide coaching on standardized work and Lean best practices.
Lead or support cross-functional teams on CI initiatives, new product introductions, and equipment installations.

Process Analysis and Optimization:

Maintain and update Manufacturing System Design (MSD)
Lead Value Stream Mapping activities to identify waste and improvement opportunities.
Conduct product line capacity analysis, both internally and customer-driven studies.
Develop plans to manage and improve capacity.
Perform and maintain routings, including time studies, updates, and approvals (annually or as required)
Implement physical change improvements to optimize processes.

Problem-Solving and Decision-Making:

Apply structured problem-solving methodologies such as 5 Whys and PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act).

Engineering, Layout & Ergonomics:

Create, update, and maintain plant and line layouts using AutoCAD .
Collaborate with Engineering on design changes and ensure effective implementation.
Packaging design and validation knowledge.
Identify and implement ergonomic improvements for operator workstations and material presentation.

Documentation and Standardization:

Maintain and update engineering documentation.
Oversee product packaging studies and manage customer communication related to packaging requirements.

Leadership, Coaching and Team Development:

Lead, coach, and develop Industrial Engineering, Materials Management, and Packaging Engineering teams.
Foster collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
Mentor team members to support professional growth, engagement, and team unity.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from an accredited institution (Master’s degree preferred).

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.

Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Strong knowledge of Core Tools and IATF Management Systems.

Proven experience in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.

Proficiency in AutoCAD.

Six Sigma knowledge or certification preferred.
