Five Star Equipment and Warhorse Rentals  is seeking a high-impact Corporate Logistics Manager to lead and standardize equipment movement operations across all branch locations. This is a mission-critical leadership role responsible for creating visibility, accountability, cost control, and operational discipline throughout our logistics network.

This is not a dispatch position. This role owns the corporate logistics process, ensuring all equipment movement is properly requested, approved, dispatched, tracked, documented, audited, and financially reconciled through one centralized system.

Position Summary

The Corporate Logistics Manager owns Five Star Equipment’s company-wide centralized logistics process through Integrated Rental (IR Dispatch / IR Go).

This position ensures every applicable equipment move is properly:

  • Requested
  • Approved
  • Assigned
  • Tracked
  • Documented
  • Audited
  • Closed out financially
 

The successful candidate will drive accountability, improve freight recovery, reduce hauling losses, optimize asset visibility, and strengthen operational execution across all locations.

Primary Mission

Create one disciplined, visible, and accountable logistics system across all locations while improving operational efficiency, financial recovery, vendor performance, and equipment availability.

Key Responsibilities

Logistics Process Ownership

  • Own and manage the centralized logistics process inside IR Dispatch
  • Ensure all moves are entered, tracked, managed, and closed through the system
  • Enforce Load ID discipline and eliminate side processes
  • Prioritize and coordinate all daily equipment movement requests

Equipment Movement Coordination

  • Assign company trucks and outside hauling resources
  • Coordinate:
    • Rental moves
    • Sales deliveries
    • Service transfers
    • Equipment demos
    • Loaners
    • Used equipment moves
    • Auction transportation
  • Monitor moves from request through final completion
  • Manage urgent, emergency, and after-hours logistics exceptions

Financial & Operational Control

  • Improve truck utilization and reduce outside hauler dependency
  • Drive load consolidation and backhaul planning initiatives
  • Improve freight recovery and reduce hauling losses
  • Ensure customer PO/authorization is captured when required
  • Track detention, delays, damages, and accessorial charges
  • Support freight audit and invoice control processes

Compliance & Accountability

  • Enforce approval requirements for all applicable moves
  • Hold or escalate incomplete or unapproved requests
  • Ensure PODs and pickup documentation are properly captured
  • Challenge inaccurate or non-compliant freight invoices
  • Escalate process violations and operational non-compliance

Performance Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop KPI scorecards and operational reporting
  • Measure vendor responsiveness and hauling performance
  • Improve process visibility and operational consistency
  • Identify efficiencies and drive continuous improvement initiatives

Decision Authority

This role has authority to:

  • Require all moves to be processed through IR Dispatch
  • Reject incomplete requests
  • Require Load IDs before dispatch
  • Hold moves pending approvals
  • Select hauling resources
  • Require POD documentation prior to closeout
  • Challenge inaccurate invoices
  • Escalate non-compliance issues
What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

5–10+ years of logistics, transportation, dispatch, or equipment operations experience
Experience supporting multi-location operations
Strong financial, cost control, and freight management experience
Experience with ERP, dispatch, or logistics systems
Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent experience
