This role is ideal for a detail-oriented finance leader who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys building from the ground up, and can balance strategic oversight with execution.
You’ll own the full accounting cycle, establish internal controls, ensure GAAP compliance, prepare the company for audit, manage payroll and equity operations, and partner cross-functionally to drive operational excellence. You’ll also be responsible for hiring and mentoring a small, high-performing accounting team.
What you’ll do:

Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes; ensure timely, accurate, and GAAP-compliant financial reporting.
Build a chart of accounts and reporting structure that supports department-level P&L visibility and business analytics.
Implement accounting systems and automation tools to streamline workflows and improve accuracy.
Compliance, Controls, and Audit Readiness
Develop and maintain strong internal controls and documentation in preparation for annual audits.
Manage external auditors and ensure successful, efficient audit completion.
Establish policies for revenue recognition, expense classification, capitalization, and other key accounting areas in accordance with GAAP.
Revenue Recognition & SaaS Accounting
Own all aspects of SaaS revenue recognition (ASC 606), including contracts, renewals, and deferred revenue management.
Partner with Sales Ops, Legal, and FP&A to ensure revenue policies are applied consistently and operationally feasible.
Payroll, Equity, and People Finance
Oversee payroll operations and ensure compliance with federal, state, and international labor and tax regulations.
Manage stock-based compensation accounting and partner with Legal and HR on equity administration.
Own the integrity and reconciliation of HRIS, payroll, and accounting systems, ensuring accurate expense and balance sheet recognition.
Build scalable processes for headcount planning, payroll reporting, and compensation expense forecasting in collaboration with FP&A and People teams.
International & Multi-Currency Accounting
Ensure compliance with local accounting and tax requirements in all operating geographies.
When relevant, manage foreign entities, intercompany transactions, and FX remeasurement and translation.
Leadership & Change Management
Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing accounting team.
Manage the transition from outsourced vendors to internal processes while maintaining business continuity.
Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, HR, Legal, and Operations to ensure seamless financial processes.
Ideal candidate has:
