What You'll Do:
- Lead and develop a high-performing, high-integrity accounting team, ensuring all team members remain motivated and challenged.
- Own the financial close process to ensure the accurate and timely preparation of the Company’s financial statements in accordance with US GAAP reporting standards.
- Prepare financial statement flux reports (Balance Sheet and Income Statement) and other financial analyses.
- Own the documentation, implementation, and maintenance of corporate accounting policies and procedures.
- Identify and implement process/system improvements to continue building the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function.
- Build cross-company relationships with key business partners around various accounting processes.
- Manage the annual audit process.
- Collaborate with FP&A to deliver high quality management reporting and execution of team objectives.
- Responsible for quarterly and annual lender reporting.
What We're Looking For:
- A strong accounting background with excellent communication skills including the ability to translate accounting guidance to business people. Excellent listener.
- A proactive approach to attacking problems and identifying solutions, displaying initiative and perseverance in order to bring about meaningful change; open and responsive to new ideas.
- Demonstrated process improvement and automation skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
- Ability to be both hands-on and strategic as required.
- Experience with accounting at an early-stage company is preferred.
- Ability to work onsite 3 days per week required; subject to change based on the business needs.
- Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Word); Netsuite preferred.
- Proven leader, with a focus on mentoring and developing staff and the ability to partner across the company.
- Bachelor’s degree and CPA license required.
- 8+ years of related accounting experience required; 3-5 years Big 4 auditing preferred.
LOCATION: San Mateo, CA
Hybrid schedule visiting our San Mateo office three days a week (Tues-Thurs).
