CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST, INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS: Hybrid Schedule, Los Angeles, CA.
What is the opportunity?
As an Internal Communications Specialist, you will serve on the Corporate Communications Team, reporting to the Corporate Communications Team Lead at City National Bank. You will help shape and implement City National's internal communications strategy and execution for all colleagues.
As a member of our Corporate Communications team, you will have an exceptional opportunity to help grow your career while driving change across many facets of the business. The team is passionately focused on building our brand, managing our reputation, and finding innovative ways to engage our internal and external audiences.
What you will do:

  • Serve as an editor, to review and provide feedback on internal emails and intranet articles.
  • Help execute the internal communications strategy to align with business goals.
  • Support and update the internal communications calendars, internal email processes and tasks.
  • Plan, edit, and write content for a variety of internal communications mediums, such as company intranet, bankwide emails, colleague campaigns, videos, thought leadership content, announcements, executive communications, etc.
  • Storyboard intranet ideas and visually bring them to life using Canva and other tools.
  • Create new and fresh ways of communicating our priorities and business objectives.
  • Draft messages, talking points and presentations for colleagues and senior executives.
  • Ensure internal communications messages are consistent across all mediums and for different departments of the organization.
  • Ensure internal communications messages are consistent with external communication messages.
  • Contribute to the internal communications metrics and analytics strategy.
  • Handle the internal communication response to incident and crisis situations which affect organizational perception, reputation and colleagues.
  • Review incoming communication requests to fine tune the audience, message and tone.


Must-Have/Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in journalism, communications, English, or public relations is an advantage, though other degrees will be considered.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in writing and editing skills, Journalism, editing, AP Style, and finance/banking background preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in speech writing, public relations or social media platforms.


Qualified candidates should possess the following skills and experience:

  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills , as well as the journalistic ability to source stories from colleagues. Must be able to provide high attention to detail. Strong background in corporate communications, business writing, and digital communications.


Compensation
Starting base salary: $78,970 - $126,140 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
