The Role

Job Overview

We are IQVIA Enterprise Communications. We sit on the front lines of protecting and enhancing the company's reputation with media, customers, employees, and the community.

Working under senior management the Corporate Communications, Associate Director will play a crucial role in shaping and managing our company's external communications strategy. Responsible for media relations, reputation management, crisis communications, managing IQVIA’s press release process, and handling merger and acquisition communications. This role requires close interaction with senior executives and serves as the company’s media spokesperson.

Essential Functions:

Media Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with key media contacts. Serve as a media spokesperson when required, representing the company in a professional and authentic manner.

Reputation Management: Monitor and manage the company's public image, proactively addressing any issues that may affect our reputation. Develop and implement strategies to enhance and protect the company's brand.

Crisis Communications: Develop and execute crisis communication plans to effectively manage and mitigate any potential crises. Serve as a key point of contact during crisis situations, ensuring timely and transparent communication.

•Press Releases: Draft, review and distribute press releases to ensure accurate and compelling communication of company news, product launches and other significant announcements.

Merger and Acquisition Communications: Support communications related to mergers, acquisitions, and other major corporate transactions. Draft and manage internal and external communications to ensure clear and consistent messaging.

Executive Interaction: Collaborate closely with senior executives to align communication strategies with business objectives. Provide strategic counsel and support to executives on media interactions and public appearances.

Content Development: Create and manage a variety of external content, including media statements, Q&A documents, and byline articles. Work closely with agency partners as needed.

Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor media coverage and public sentiment. Prepare regular reports on communications activities and their impact, providing insights and recommendations for improvement. Create efficiencies in metrics reporting processes.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Communications, Journalism, or related field.
  • US Remote / home based.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in corporate communications, including internal communications, executive communications, and/or media relations required.
  • Experience in the life sciences or pharmaceutical industries required.
  • Strong experience and interest in a variety of communications disciplines, including internal and external communications, social media, digital platforms, and HR/engagement communications.
  • Strong Project management experience with the ability to manage multiple projects at once while delivering high quality work, adhering to internal standards, and meeting deadlines with attention to detail. Advanced
  • Intellectual curiosity and a willingness to quickly learn about IQVIA’s global businesses, combined with a strong ability to connect the underpinnings of our content to those businesses.
  • Demonstrated proficiency of excellent writing and editing skills, including the ability to write about complex topics in a simple, easy to understand way. Advanced
  • Ability to synthetize complex thoughts or information utilizing critical thinking skills to analyze information and make well thought out decisions or recommendations. Advanced
  • Demonstrated mastery of Associated Press (AP) writing style. Intermediate
  • Ability to work one-on-one with business leaders and partners (at all levels of the organization) from conception to launch – and provide strategic advice and execution support throughout the process. Advanced
  • A strong sense of urgency, a high degree of initiative, and the ability to lead and/or participate in cross-functional teams with highly developed teamwork skills. Advanced

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $102,200.00 - $189,800.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
