BlackRock Global Corporate Communications is looking for an Analyst, based in Frankfurt.
Your team
Within BlackRock’s Corporate Affairs function, Corporate Communications leads all internal and external communications that advance our purpose of helping more and more people experience financial well-being. The team is responsible for driving compelling communications and stakeholder engagement strategies that enhance our culture, drive growth, strengthen our reputation, and build our brand. You will be a member of the EMEA Corporate Communications team, based in Frankfurt, Germany, reporting to the Head of Corporate Communications for Germany, Austria and Eastern Europe.
Job description
The Analyst will be a critical team member supporting the communications initiatives related to BlackRock’s business priorities in the Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Eastern Europe. The role will be responsible for developing and executing communications initiatives that support our commercial activities and elevate our brand in the region as well as managing corporate and reputational risk.
Responsibilities:
- Work in close partnership with the DACH Corporate Communications team to develop and activate a dedicated corporate communications strategy in the region, with a particular focus on bolstering efforts in Germany.
- Work closely with our DACH PR agency to support the Comms team and BlackRock’s spokespeople prior to, during, and after media interviews, as well as help coordinate proactive media events and engagements in the region.
- Develop working relationships with business/financial and trade media across the region.
- Develop first drafts of media pitches, press releases and supporting materials.
- Help the team manage reactive media inquiries in a timely and efficient manner as well as contribute to the overall function of the EMEA Comms team, providing local support for cross-European communications initiatives.
- Media monitor in real time and flag relevant issues and coverage to key stakeholders.
- Help position BlackRock in the local market showcasing the firm’s unique capabilities and local footprint.
Qualifications:
- We’re looking for people with a passion for the news, an interest in how it is made and why it is important in shaping the reputation of companies and individuals.
- You should be highly-motivated and well-organized. You must have an excellent work ethic and be comfortable with multitasking while in a fast-paced environment with the ability to handle tight deadlines.
- Strong project management skills are essential as is an eye for detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and high proficiency in English are a must and you need to be comfortable working and interacting with leaders up and down the company as well as with colleagues, journalists and other external content producers around the world.
- At least one year of full-time professional experience is required. Experience in either corporate communications or marketing (agency or in-house) is ideal. If it happens to be in the financial services industry then that’s even better (though not essential).
- Masters’/ Bachelor’s degree with strong record of academic achievement is critical for us to get a sense of your sharp mind, inquisitive nature and an interest in the world around us.
