Job Description
The Core Systems Engineering Section Manager reports directly to the Systems Engineering Director and will be a functional leader supervising a group of systems engineers.
The Core Systems Engineering Section Manager is responsible ensuring that goals and objectives of the section align with CMS Systems Engineering's strategy and vision, including efficient utilization of staff, effective value-added process and infrastructure, and personnel development.
The section manager coordinates closely with the other two Core SE managers, in addition to the other SE sections, engineering functions, and Program Engineering Managers to meet the program needs for Systems Engineering resources.
Critical Activities:

  • Oversee the activities and performance of the assigned Core Systems Engineers
  • Ensure efficient utilization of staff; inclusive of contract labor
  • Collaborate with the programs and other Core SE Sections on resource needs
  • Support staff by collaborating, mentoring / coaching, and reviewing work products
  • Ensure the team applies BAE Systems policies and processes


Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Software or other relevant Engineering/Science field with 10+ Years experience, or 8+ Years with Master's Degree, or 6+ Years with PhD
  • Knowledgeable in concepts and practices of Systems Engineering analysis, design, and development including Requirements management, system architecture development, systems integration (interface management), trade studies and analytical decision support, Size Weight and Power - Cooling Cost (SwaP-CC), and Design to Unit Production Cost (DTUPC)
  • Experience with preparing proposals and basis of estimates.
  • Knowledgeable in the application Life Cycle Management (LCM)
  • Due to a government contract, US Citizenship is required for this position


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Military Experience
  • Practical engineering experience in a DoD environment
  • Combat Mission Systems program experience in a leadership position
  • Practical knowledge and experience managing engineering projects using Earned Value Management
  • Experience with SysML in Cameo Systems Modeler (MagicDraw) or equivalent modeling tool
  • Personnel management experience, such as performance management, staffing forecasting, hiring, mentoring and development
  • INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification
  • Current Secret Clearance


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $140690 - $239140
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
