The Role

Clever. Bold. Emotional. Inspiring. Weird. Concise. Grammatically correct. Yes, please.

If you're looking for hands-on experience in a fast-paced, dynamic, and creative environment, this is the place for you. We’re seeking a paid, part-time Content Strategist - Copy Intern to join our team this summer. You’ll collaborate closely with our copywriting and design teams to help concept, craft, and manage the stories we need to tell across platforms, formats, and mediums.

We’re looking for someone who’s writerly first and foremost, but visually minded and deeply tuned to social trends. You’re curious about what’s happening in culture, how content shows up in the world, and how words and visuals work together to create impact for a cross-section of clients (including ourselves).

We will begin reviewing applications starting January 2, 2026.

About Mission:

Mission is a brand marketing agency that believes great work comes from the heart, mind, and gut. We build brands, deliver results-driven strategies, champion integrated marketing campaigns, and craft digital experiences. Our thinking is equal parts data and intuition. Our greatest strength as a team? The ability to adapt quickly and steer clear of formulaic thinking.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Assisting with industry- and audience-specific research to understand how effective writing appeals to their wants, needs, goals, and motivations.
  • Brainstorming concepts for content strategy and execution, as well as complementary assets.
  • Supporting content development across channels, including web, social, print, and OOH.
  • Interpreting client feedback and developing creative solutions that balance words and visuals.
  • Reviewing print and web deliverables based on grammar, audience, effectiveness, and brand voice.

You'll learn how to:

  • Collaborate on the development of voice and content for a wide range of brands.
  • Produce a variety of work, including brand stories, web/social content, ad headlines, and product explanations.
  • Work closely with designers to ensure copy and visuals complement one another.
  • Think creatively, write persuasively, and be able to explain your point of view.
  • Have the flexibility to navigate the headspace of multiple clients and elevate their stories uniquely.
  • Interpret creative direction and adapt points from creative briefs into compelling concepts.
  • Interview clients and other sources to help inform strategy and design.
  • Stay up-to-speed on the goals and status of projects across the agency.
  • Simultaneously manage projects with short deadlines.

Impress us with:

  • A portfolio, writing samples, or content examples that show us how you think (words, visuals, or both).
  • The ability to pivot style, tone, and voice across different brands and platforms.
  • An interest in trends, culture, social media, and emerging content formats.
  • A willingness to research unfamiliar topics, industries, and audiences.
  • Interpersonal skills and a knack for collaboration.
  • A hunger for feedback and development.
  • A cover letter. Please. It doesn’t have to be the next great American cover letter or a perfect sonnet—it doesn’t even have to be about writing. Have fun with it. Get weird. Show us you.

Candidates must:

  • Be available to work in-person Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday in our Hampden office (no remote applicants).
  • Be currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at an accredited college or university (rising junior or senior).
  • Be seeking or have received a degree in marketing, communications, design, advertising, or other relevant fields of study.
  • Be detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable juggling multiple projects.
  • Be enthusiastic, curious, and eager to share creative ideas.

What We Do

Mission is a brand marketing and advertising agency that believes great work comes from the heart, mind and gut. This is our mantra and the cornerstone of who we are collectively. Emotive, analytical, and intuitive: It’s what we do and how we do it. We exist to communicate, educate, persuade, and inspire— and to make people care. For over 23 years, we have transformed ideas, products, and organizations into brands, and brands into regional, national, and international category leaders. We help our partners create compelling identities and content, and aggregate, analyze, and leverage engagement data to effectively increase awareness, influence perception, inspire action, and foster a brand's growth.
