Role Specific Information

Job Description

This role is based at our Corporate Office in Menomonee Falls, WI. You’ll work onsite from Monday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Fridays.

About the Role

As Senior Copywriter, you will lead copy development and projects, balance multiple high-visibility projects while writing compelling copy, partner with art directors from concept to execution and help to maintain the brand voice across the copy team.

What You’ll Do

• Lead copy development for campaigns (e.g., seasonal, corporate, cause-related)

• Ensure standards for Kohl's copystyle

• Work closely with art directors and designers to develop concepts for projects and campaigns

• Ensure grammatical and stylistic accuracy in all aspects of Marketing deliverables

• Incorporate changes, input proof comments, and ensure copy is up-to-date and accurate throughout the lifecycle of a project

• Update files and copy to reflect changes in creative requests

• Adhere to production schedules and monitor all updates

• Manage the daily calendar to ensure milestones and deadlines are met

• Lead peers in generating creative digital solutions, take charge of multiple projects and write compelling copy

• Develop and execute copy and creative targeting Spanish-speaking customers

• Write in both English and Spanish and translate copy generated by other writers

• Proofread Spanish copy before final posting or publishing

• Perform accurate English-to-Spanish translations for communication across all marketing channels, including social, digital, print and video

• Additional tasks may be assigned

What Skills You Have

Required

• Must be bilingual with fluency in both English and Spanish

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications or English
  5+ years of related experience
  Superior grasp of grammar and style as indicated by test
  Demonstrated copywriting ability as indicated by writing samples
  Strong ideation and communication skill

Preferred

• Retail Experience

• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite

• Experience with Asset Management Tools
