Roblox is seeking a Copywriter to join an in-house studio team that supports key areas of the business, including Business Marketing, Growth Marketing (App Stores) foundational brand building and more. This hands-on role is pivotal in delivering crafted copy at scale. You will collaborate with designers, editors, and business partners to provide strategically aligned and creatively compelling copy that defines Roblox across all our marketing surfaces, presentation materials, video content, and web. Your unwavering attention to detail, collaborative mentality, and passion for writing will be integral as we embark on our mission to bring millions of people together through shared experiences.

You Will:

  • Enhance the overall Roblox brand by creating compelling, nimbly crafted copy about our products and features
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners across the organization to implement and refine copy and content
  • Write for brand, consumer and creator audiences, and switch easily between them
  • Build and maintain copy guidelines, ensuring consistency in voice and tone and craft
  • Partner with team members and cross-functional partners to clarify requirements and deliverables when there is ambiguity
  • You will report directly to the Studio Manager

You Have:

  • At least 5+ years of professional writing and concepting experience with a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in English, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
  • Your experience comes from the agency side and/or brand side.
  • A remarkable portfolio that showcases proficient copywriting across various platforms and strong conceptual thinking.
  • An obsession with craft: you place a high value on crafting your work, focusing on quality over quantity.
  • Strong concepting skills: you enjoy coming up with strategic and creative content that's rooted in clear strategy and tells a compelling brand story.
  • Production understanding: you have crafted video materials and love the storytelling opportunities video offers
  • A love for being a great teammate: you enjoy working with cross-functional teams and customers, accepting feedback and direction gracefully. You know how to manage multiple projects while still delivering high-quality work
  • A thoughtful and resilient mindset. You understand that copywriting is iterative and have the ability to operate nimbly.
  • The ability to be a self starter: You are comfortable and able to work independently, managing timelines and briefs from multiple projects and partners.

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.

Annual Salary Range

$114,190$143,840 USD

Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
