You:
As a copywriter at Contravent you’ll be tasked pretty much every day to write killer headlines, digital banner ads, video scripts, website copy, social posts, and other things that require words and punctuation and stuff. You’ll also be depended on to work with designers and other creatives to come up with ideas and concepts to execute and roll out campaigns for a variety of clients.
The Job:
- The ability to write compelling copy (required) without complaining (optional, but encouraged) in a fast-paced environment.
- The ability to receive, interpret, and act on feedback from team members, creative directors, and clients.
- Work with an input/strategy brief to write crisp, engaging copy that is on strategy and lines up to the desired goal outlined by the client.
Generate Ideas
- The ability to think conceptually and to generate high-level ideas for campaigns and projects.
- Think outside that proverbial box to find new ways to say things, fresh ways to look at things, and creative ways to solve our clients’ every-day problems.
Collaboration
- An ability to work closely with others, especially designers and other team members, to hit deadlines and build excellent work together.
- Reliable and responsive through remote-work channels (such as Slack).
Ownership
- A proactive approach will impress your teammates and help you get ahead. Take ownership of projects and demonstrate great follow-through skills without needing to be micromanaged.
- A willingness to pitch in and help wherever possible.
- Do the research, ask the questions, find the solutions, exhaust your resources, write a bajillion headlines to get the one that’s perfect….all the things a pro would do in order to own the work, make it as good as it can be, and create something that will really break through.
What are we looking for?

- Excellent listening, oral, and written communication skills to work effectively with the agency team and clients.
- Comfortable talking to clients to present work, ask clarifying questions, and explain rationale for creative decisions in a respectful but confident way.
- Always be thinking what else you can bring to a project. The best creatives don’t settle for the bare minimum or simply “what was asked for.” Find ways to bring that extra something-something to everything you do.

Professional Qualifications:
