Copywriter
We are looking for an experienced writer with a strong vocabulary, sense of voice and the ability to write for multiple touchpoints, ensuring its consistency. The right candidate will be quick to develop an understanding of the portfolio brands’ individual positioning and customers and make sure everything written is through that lens. He/she/they thrives in a fast-paced environment, is hands-on, creative, detail-oriented and passionate about storytelling in every area of the business. This role will be a key partner in driving the brand positioning, and tasked with ensuring we’re crafting cohesive and compelling messaging that engages, grows and retains each individual customer base. The role reports to the Brand Director and will write copy across all applicable brands.
Responsibilities
Write compelling, on-brand, SEO-friendly product copy that synthesizes the most interesting and important details of each item
Work directly with the product in the studio and in partnership with the merchandising team to ensure all product details are accurate (i.e. fabric content, fit, country of origin, etc.) and compelling, highlighting any newness
Partner with Ecommerce team to manage and prioritize new merchandise through the appropriate workflow; Upload finalized copy into the content management system
Generate storytelling for the site, stores, email, SMS and social
Proof and fact-check all copy on a daily basis
Ad-hoc copy needs, such as updating brand decks, drafting press releases and providing customer feedback responses
Requirements
4-5 years professional writing experience; E-commerce copywriting a plus
Experience in luxury fashion essential, plus a working knowledge of the industry and current trends
Elevated taste level
Best in class verbal, written and presentation skills
Knowledge of fabrics and fibers, fashion silhouettes and fits
Familiar working in a CMS
Must work well as part of a team and be able to productively use feedback to improve copy
Ability to troubleshoot, be solution-oriented and manage through ambiguity
Proven track record of working and influencing cross-functional teams
Resourceful self-starter, with a can-do attitude; ability to work independently and manage projects from inception to completion with accountability for goal setting and results
Strong planning, project management, and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment, handling multiple projects and priorities
A natural ability to collaborate well with others across the organization
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York, Club Monaco includes a reasonable estimate of the salary or hourly rate range for this role. This accounts for the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience and training, licensure, and certifications.
A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range is $75,000 per year to $85,000 per year.
