As copyeditor, you’ll be responsible for covering editing needs for our technical, legal, and market-based stories. You’ll provide support to editorial operations, staff writers, and journalists as needed. This role requires overnight hours, from 9pm - 6am PKT, with the possibility of shifting hours later next year as editorial objectives evolve.
The ideal candidate will have wire service, newsroom or similar experience, know or be able to efficiently learn our subject matter, and possess the ability to quickly make concise stories from complex information. Speed, accuracy and strong news judgment are critical to this role. Prior experience in structural editing is required. The candidate must be an excellent communicator, confidently work across different teams, and adapt quickly as editorial objectives evolve.
This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a dynamic global organization, working to help shape content with experienced financial journalists, analysts, and lawyers, and editorial operations.

- Adopt Octus’s editorial standards, workflows, and internal tools (CMS, Monday.com, AI tools) with ease
- When needed, provide line editing on reporter stories: shaping story structure, narrative flow, argument coherence and contextual accuracy for sophisticated financial subscribers
- This includes making editorial judgment calls on story completeness, sourcing standards and post-publication corrections
- Over time, you’ll work closely with reporters, analysts and subject matter experts to strengthen content, ask the right questions and push back when stories fall short
- Manage publishing workflows in the CMS, ensuring content is accurate and delivered on deadline
- Provide regional crossover support to other editors as required and an “edit anything from anywhere” mindset
Requirements
- Impeccable attention to detail and first-rate editing skills
- Excellent writing, time management and communication skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize numerous articles simultaneously while working to tight deadlines
- Strong news sense, with knowledge in financial news and markets
- Ability to work accurately at speed and under pressure
- Excellent written English
- Covering shift work during the week, occasionally working unsociable hours to ensure we publish news in a timely manner. Hours will be 9pm PKT - 6am PKT.
- Candidates must have a minimum of five years’ professional editing experience for a global business organization.
- Experience building or refining prompts or AI-assisted checklists for editorial workflows, and an interest in automating repetitive publishing tasks.

Octus Insights
What We Do
Octus, was founded in 2013 with a simple conviction: credit decisions deserve clarity, not chaos. Markets were fragmented. Intelligence was gated. Data lived in silos. Professionals were forced to stitch together incomplete pictures while the clock kept running. We built Octus to change that. Octus is the essential credit platform that tracks the entire credit lifecycle. From origination and underwriting to secondary trading, refinancing, distress and restructuring, we follow every development across leveraged loans, high-yield bonds, private credit and special situations. We structure millions of documents, surface risks, benchmark performance and deliver expert reporting and analysis in real time. What began as a newsroom fused with legal and financial expertise has evolved into a unified ecosystem. Octus brings together proprietary data, expert-driven intelligence and integrated workflow tools so credit professionals can analyze situations, uncover opportunities, manage portfolios, execute trades and stay compliant without ever leaving the platform. Insight and action finally live in one place. Today, nearly 40,000 professionals across the world’s leading banks, asset managers, CLO managers, law firms and advisors rely on Octus to move smarter and faster. They turn to us for breadth, depth and rigor forged over more than a decade, and for the speed, integration and precision that define the future of credit workflow. Our mission is direct and ambitious: end fragmentation, collapse the distance between intelligence and execution, and transform insight into impact. Because in credit, clarity isn’t just an advantage. It’s everything. Octus: Where credit becomes clear.
