The Coordinator – Receiving (1st Shift) supports daily receiving operations by coordinating inbound deliveries and ensuring receiving documentation is processed accurately and on time. This role directs dock assignments for inbound shipments, coordinates the movement and removal of containers, and helps ensure materials, supplies, and products are received efficiently and in alignment with warehouse workflows and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

· Coordinate inbound deliveries and assign dock doors to support efficient receiving operations.

· Verify shipments against purchase orders and receiving documentation for accuracy and completeness.

· Inspect incoming product for damage, quantity discrepancies, or quality concerns and resolve or escalate issues as needed.

· Maintain accurate receiving records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).

· Communicate with warehouse and inventory teams to prioritize and manage inbound deliveries.

· Provide guidance to team members during receiving activities to ensure safe and efficient operations.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.

Requirements

 Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• 1–2 years of experience in warehouse, distribution, or inbound/receiving operations; prior leadership or team lead experience preferred.

• Solid knowledge of receiving procedures, inbound logistics, inventory control processes, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).

• Experience coordinating inbound shipments, verifying documentation, inspecting product for accuracy and quality, and resolving discrepancies with carriers or vendors.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple inbound deliveries in a fast-paced environment.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and provide direction to team members when needed.

• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, including identifying root causes of receiving errors and implementing corrective actions.

• Ability to safely lift and move materials up to 50 lbs and perform physical receiving tasks as required.

• Flexibility to work varied schedules, including evenings, weekends, and overtime during peak inbound periods.

Preferred Qualifications (Optional)

· Experience coordinating inbound shipments or dock scheduling in a warehouse or distribution environment.

· Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or similar inventory systems.

· Prior experience supporting or guiding warehouse team members.

· Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment.

Physical Requirements 

· Ability to lift, carry, and move items—often 30–50 lbs regularly, and occasionally heavier depending on the role.

· Standing, walking, and bending for extended periods, sometimes for an entire shift.

· Repetitive motions, such as reaching, pulling, pushing, and manual handling of products.

· Operating or working around machinery and equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or conveyor systems (with appropriate training).

· Tolerating varying environmental conditions, like hot, cold, or noisy warehouse spaces.

Work Environment

· Tolerance for varying temperatures 

· Exposure to dust, noise, forklifts, and moving machinery

Skills Required
