Job Summary
The Permit Coordinator plays a critical role in managing and streamlining the permitting process for construction and infrastructure projects. This position is responsible for ensuring all permit applications are complete, compliant with applicable codes and regulations, and processed efficiently. The role involves close collaboration with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to facilitate timely approvals, maintain accurate records, and support project execution. The Permit Coordinator also contributes to process improvement initiatives and ensures clear communication and accountability throughout the permitting lifecycle.PLEASE NOTE: this role is in office at one of the listed locations 4 days a week and one day a week remote.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate permit applications for completeness and accuracy, ensuring all necessary documentation is provided.
- Verify that permit applications comply with applicable NESC codes, zoning regulations, and other relevant laws and ordinances.
- Assist applicants in understanding permit requirements and guide them through the application process, providing excellent customer service and addressing inquiries and concerns.
- Collaborate with internal departments, such as planning, engineering, and environmental services, to coordinate the review and approval of permit applications.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all permit applications, approvals, and inspections using electronic databases or other designated systems.
- Communicate and coordinate with contractors, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to obtain additional information or clarify permit-related matters.
- Process and issue permit once all necessary requirements are met, including collecting fees and ensuring proper documentation.
- Escalation process (identification, processing, reporting, etc.). Key focus on internal/external clear communication, setting expectations and accountability.
- Establish regular internal (construction, sales, PM) and external (utility pole owners, BP’s) “checkup” meetings (if applicable/needed)
- Preliminary review of existing process by which Comcast handles all aspects of permitting (identification, submission, tracking/mgmt., payments, recording/documentation, escalations, etc.)
- Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.

Primary Location Pay Range: $28.99 - $43.49Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience.
