As part of the Controls Room Team within Control Management, you will collaborate with other control disciplines to oversee existing control functions and develop new control protocols, empowering the three lines of defense with risk-based information to manage their control environment. We achieve this by collecting, analyzing, and monitoring firmwide risk-based intelligence across all lines of business and corporate functions. 

The Controls Room team is seeking a Vice President Product Manager to promote and execute with cross-functional teams toward the future of the Control Management technology ecosystem—an impactful role with broad visibility and the ability to improve efficiency for thousands of employees.

As a Product Manager within the Controls Room Organization, you will be instrumental in transforming the Control Management Organization by driving key elements of change through innovative technology, frameworks, and processes. Your role will focus on product development of the CORE Application and to evolve the Control Managers’ technology experience in the Compliance and Operational Risk domain.

Our development approach will be spec-driven and includes rapid prototyping, leveraging Claude Code and/or GitHub Copilot (in accordance with firm-approved tooling and controls). The features we build will be AI-first, embedding intelligent assistance into core workflows from the start.

Control Management maintains a strong and consistent control environment across the firm. With Control Managers appointed for each Line of Business, Function and Region, there is a comprehensive coverage and joint accountability model with the business executive that promotes early operational risk identification and assessment, effective design and evaluation of controls and sustainable solutions to mitigate operational risk.

The Controls Room gathers information from key business and technology partners in order to:

•             Facilitate better decision making and actionable insights across the Firm.

•             Create cost-effective and automated reporting; and

•             Provide views into risk and issues.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive cross functional teams through the product development of the CORE Product, evolve the Control Managers’ technology experience and deliver against the CORE/Transformation roadmaps.
  • Translate higher level strategy and requirements from internal stakeholders into actionable tasks for Product Owners and Agile development teams
  • Drive and oversee a spec-driven delivery process, ensuring high-quality product requirements (e.g., user stories, acceptance criteria) and rapid prototyping cycles leveraging Claude Code and/or GitHub Copilot (in accordance with firm-approved tooling and controls)
  • Ensure the product roadmap is AI-first, partnering with technology teams to embed intelligent assistance and automation into the end-user experience
  • Manage relationships with Line of Business and Function Leads and key stakeholders to build out and maintain long-term roadmaps
  • Monitor progress of roadmap deliverables to escalate risks and concerns
  • Partner with Technology Leads and Product Owners to drive modernization efforts and deliver solutions aligned with CORE/Transformation roadmaps in a timely manner
  • Partner with the Program Management team to ensure the Product’s progress is reported accurately on status reports
  • Provide subject matter expertise and impact analysis for projects driven by the Control Management organization to influence end-to-end implementation across the Controls Room teams
  • Manage and participate in multiple project workstreams concurrently to proactively enhance outcomes, identify effective solutions, and mitigate issues
  • Present roadmaps, technology solutions, and status updates on various forums with senior stakeholders

 

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:

  • Quantitative background (BA/BS in Math, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering) with 6+ years of experience working with technology partners to develop products
  • Advanced experience translating user requests to technology requirements using agile management tools like JIRA
  • Prior application of the agile methodology for product development
  • Experience driving delivery across cross-functional teams, managing dependencies, and influencing outcomes without direct authority
  • Experience with AI-assisted development and prototyping tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) in line with approved tooling/controls
  • Experience implementing AI capabilities including agentic workflows
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills; must be able to communicate with a wide variety of functional groups at various levels
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, effective under pressure and willing to take personal responsibility/accountability
  • Flexible, adaptable to shifting priorities; able to work in a fast-paced, results driven environment
  • Effective time management and multitasking skills

 

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:

  • Experience in auditing, compliance, or financial industry consulting and the ability to understand of internal controls is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements for consumer banking industry.
  • Knowledge of AI and data analytical tools such as Github Copilot, Claude Code, Tableau, Alteryx or Python is a plus. 
  • Experience working with internal control, compliance, and risk management is a plus
