Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  • Project management
  • Design, build, supervise, install & test electrical control systems/panels for hydraulic presses/equipment
  • Write new & modify existing program code (PLC, HMI, DBs…)
  • (Hands-on) troubleshooting & problem-solving
  • Provide technical service/support to various departments within the organization
  • Occasional travel

Qualifications

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, DEGREES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:

  • Bachelor’s/master’s degree in electrical engineering
  • 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing/automation environment
  • Creative thinker, results oriented, focused, and attentive to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in design/drafting tools: AutoCAD (Electrical), Inventor, SolidWorks…
  • Knowledge of codes, standards & regulations (ANSI, NEC, NEMA, UL, CE, OSHA…)
  • Sensor technology (flow, pressure, level, temperature, position, motion, vision…)
  • Basic understanding of physical principals/calculations:
  • Pressure, tonnage, flow, temperature
  • Horse power, torque
  • Area, volumetric, density, and mass relationships
  • Velocity, acceleration
  • Unit conversions (Metric system!)
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills

  • RSLogix 500, RSLogix 5000
  • ControlLogix, GuardLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix, Siemens S5/S7, Beckhoff…
  • RSView32, FactorTalkView, PanelView  
  • RSLinx, RSNetWorx for ControlNet/DeviceNet
  • Fieldbus/networks technologies: EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, ControlNet, Profibus, ASI, CAN…
  • VB programming
  • Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience with PLC/HMI platforms and control hardware (RSLogix, ControlLogix, GuardLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix, Siemens S5/S7, Beckhoff)
  • Experience with HMI/SCADA tools (RSView32, FactoryTalkView, PanelView) and communications (RSLinx, RSNetWorx)
  • Familiarity with fieldbus/network technologies (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, ControlNet, Profibus, ASI, CAN)
  • VB programming experience and Microsoft Office proficiency
