Job Description
Evident is looking for a Controller to manage the Accounting department. The successful candidate will be responsible for all the accounting operations and producing financial statements along with sharing their knowledge and experience with the leadership team and subordinates. This role reports to the COO of the company. The role will be based in our office in Atlanta (hybrid work model with three days in the office and two days remote).
Responsibilities:
- Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions
- Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
- Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements
- Management of collections and payables
- Coordinating activities of external auditors and leading the annual audit process in conjunction with auditors
- Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process
- Managing the budget and forecasting processes
- Managing the payroll process
- Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes
- Evaluating accounting and internal control systems
- Developing and monitoring business performance metrics
- Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance
- Hiring, training and retaining skilled accounting staff
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
- At least 3 - 5 years of experience as a Controller
- Knowledge of all generally accepted accounting principles
- NetSuite experience
- Solid analytical, problem solving and financial troubleshooting skills
- MBA or a relevant professional certification preferred
