We are looking for a Controller to lead our accounting function, driving the continuous improvement of financial processes and systems to support long-term scalability and growth. In this role, you will ensure strict compliance with all statutory requirements across Canada, the U.S., and international markets, while building a robust foundation for our global operations. You will lead a talented accounting team, oversee daily operations, and drive strategic initiatives that align with our growth objectives.

What you'll be doing 

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team of 8, including 5 direct reports, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

• Oversee all accounting operations, including journal entries, payroll, commissions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue recognition, statutory reporting, banking, and daily operations in accordance with Canadian ASPE.

• Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies, updating financial accounting policies as needed.

• Maintain and enforce a monthly close calendar, meeting all deadlines for reconciliations, reporting, and financial analysis.

• Prepare consolidated financial statements and lead initiatives to identify operational cost efficiencies.

• Lead the automation of accounting system integrations with the CRM, acting as project manager to ensure successful implementation.

What you bring to the table 

• CPA Designation is required.

• SaaS Experience: Proven expertise in subscription-based revenue models, including a deep understanding of SaaS financial practices.

• Systems Automation & Process Improvement: Strong focus on driving automation and continuously improving financial processes to enhance efficiency and scalability.

• Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to convey complex financial concepts clearly to various stakeholders, including non-financial team members.

• Advanced Excel Proficiency: Strong skills in Excel, including expertise with functions like VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data analysis.

• Technical Tools Experience: Familiarity with systems such as NetSuite, Stripe, and Salesforce is a strong plus.
