The Controller will play a critical role in overseeing the accounting operations of our growing DTC business.  This includes oversight of the month-end close process and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining strong financial controls, overseeing reconciliations, managing audits, and optimizing accounting processes. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong business acumen who can provide financial leadership and guidance to support the company's growth objectives.

Responsibilities: 

Month-End Close & Financial Reporting

• Drive and oversee the month-end close process.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
• Create and post Adjusting Journal Entries (AJE) as needed.

Reconciliations & Financial Controls

• Perform Balance Sheet account reconciliations.
• Conduct cash reconciliation and ensure proper controls over company cash flow.
• Manage credit card (CC) reconciliation and oversee corporate credit card expenditures.

Policy, Compliance, & Audit Support

• Manage multi-state sales tax compliance and filings.
• Oversee tax planning and filing in coordination with tax professionals.
• Provide support for annual financial statement audits, including preparing necessary documentation.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including 1099 tracking and creation.

Payroll Administration

• Administer accurate and compliant payroll processing, tax withholdings, and benefits.
• Manage employee timesheets, expense reports, and reimbursements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• MBA, CPA or CMA preferred.
• 5-10 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting; prior experience as a Financial Controller or similar role.
• Proficiency in Quickbooks and NetSuite is required.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial compliance standards.
• Experience with audits and financial controls.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and ability to work cross-functionally.
