Position Description:
The Controller is responsible for the overall management of accounting operations, cash management, internal controls, and compliance. This position partners closely with executive management to provide financial insight that supports strategic decision-making while ensuring the integrity of the company's financial records. In a small manufacturing environment, the Controller is expected to be hands-on and actively involved in daily accounting operations and to operate efficiently and consistently with the Jankel Tactical Systems Business Plan.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll oversight, and cash management
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and management reports
- Monitor manufacturing costs, inventory, margins, variances, and job or product profitability
- Maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and compliance with applicable tax, audit, banking, and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate year-end audits, tax filings, insurance reporting, and relationships with external accountants, lenders, and other advisors
- Supervise and develop account staff and partner with operations and leadership to improve financial performance and business processes
- Other duties as required by Management consistent with the JTS Business Plan
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA or CMA preferred
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibility
- Manufacturing accounting experience, including cost accounting and inventory management, strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and ERP/accounting systems-Deltek Costpoint preferred
- Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Eligible for US Security Clearance to minimum SECRET
- Familiarity with FAR, DFARs and CAS a plus

Skills Required
