StratusGrid is looking for a hands-on Controller to own and strengthen our financial operations as we grow. This role is ideal for someone who has worked in a startup, high-growth, or PE/VC-backed environment and is equally comfortable managing the day-to-day financials and building the reporting, processes, and controls needed to scale.

You’ll work closely with company leadership, providing clear visibility into financial performance while ensuring the fundamentals—accounting, reporting, cash management, forecasting, and compliance—are done exceptionally well.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the company's accounting and financial operations, including general ledger, month-end close, AP/AR, payroll oversight, and reconciliations.

• Own invoicing, collections, cash flow management, and the month-end close process, ensuring books are closed accurately and on time and leadership has clear visibility into the company’s cash position.

• Prepare financial reporting and supporting materials for leadership, the Board, investors, and lenders, including managing banking relationships, borrowing requirements, and financial covenants.

• Build reporting that provides clear visibility into revenue, expenses, margins, cash, and overall company performance.

• Establish and improve financial controls, policies, and processes as the company scales.

• Coordinate tax, audit, insurance, banking, and other external financial relationships.

• Support leadership and investors with financial reporting, analysis, and ad hoc requests.

• Identify financial risks, trends, and opportunities and bring actionable recommendations to leadership.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including Controller or similar financial leadership responsibilities.

• Strong preference for experience in a startup, high-growth, PE-backed, or VC-backed company.

• Demonstrated ability to independently manage the financial operations of a small or growing business.

• Strong financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash-management experience.

• Excellent understanding of GAAP and accounting controls.

• Comfortable moving between detailed accounting work and higher-level financial analysis.

• Strong systems skills and the ability to improve and automate financial processes.

• Clear communicator who can translate financial information into useful business insights.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA is a plus.
