We are hiring a highly motivated and experienced Controller to lead our accounting team in Houston. As a private equity-backed company, we are experiencing significant growth and require a talented individual to take ownership of our accounting functions and financial reporting.

What you’ll do:

• Lead and manage all aspects of accounting, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements
• Develop and maintain strong internal controls and processes
• Develop & manage the month-end close process and financial reporting
• Led and oversee the annual audit and tax preparation process
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and efficiencies
• Manage and develop a team of accounting professionals

What you bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA preferred
• Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience, including at least five years in a leadership role closing at least 3 years of audited financial accounts
• Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of GAAP
• Experience with financial reporting and analysis
• Proven ability to develop and implement internal controls and processes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change
• 5 years’ experience in the retail industry is mandatory
• Retail auditor background of over 3 years a plus
• Experience in technology projects to simply or enhance accounting functions and ERP systems implementations a plus
