  • Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts and liquidity plans.
  • Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Analyze financial performance and provide meaningful variance analysis.

  • Prepare financing applications and support lending renewals.
  • Monitor loan covenants and lender reporting requirements.
  • Optimize cash management processes and working capital.
  • Coordinate foreign exchange transactions and manage currency exposure.

Compliance & Risk Management
  • Oversee payroll administration and related remittances.
  • Coordinate GST, corporate tax filings, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and provincial legislation.
  • Manage WorkSafeBC reporting and related obligations.
  • Support risk management initiatives and insurance renewals.

Business Partnership
  • Act as a trusted advisor to ownership and senior management.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Coordinate with external advisors including lawyers, accountants, banks, and insurance providers.
  • Work closely with First Nations business partners to support strategic initiatives, promote shared economic opportunities, and contribute to successful long-term partnerships.
  • Participate in business planning and growth initiatives.

Systems & Team Development
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiencies, and automation.
  • Support accounting software implementations, upgrades, and conversions.
  • Develop and document financial procedures and controls.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and develop accounting team members as the organization grows.

What You Bring
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • 7–10+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience.
  • Experience within manufacturing, forestry, sawmill operations, logistics, transportation, industrial operations, or other asset-intensive businesses.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, treasury, trade finance, and internal controls.
  • Experience working within privately-owned, entrepreneurial, or growth-oriented organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience with accounting system implementations or software conversions is considered an asset.
  • Experience with QuickBooks, Richmond Systems, or similar ERP/accounting platforms.

Who You Are
You are a practical, solutions-oriented finance professional who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment. You enjoy building processes, improving systems, and providing financial leadership that helps drive business success. You take ownership, work independently, and are comfortable navigating the challenges and opportunities that come with a growing organization.
Most importantly, you are a trusted business partner who combines strong technical accounting expertise with sound judgment, commercial awareness, and a genuine desire to contribute to the company's long-term success.
Why Apply?

  • Diverse and interesting work across multiple business functions.
  • Ability to build and develop the finance function as the company grows.
  • Collaborative, entrepreneurial culture where your contributions are recognized and valued.
