Description

INTECH Process Automation & Intelligence is seeking a skilled Control System Engineer to join our Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise and engineering support for control and automation systems, including DCS, ESD, F&G, PLC, and SCADA systems.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Cutover Planning

  • Identify and tag critical signals and interlocks
  • Verify all I/O mappings and confirm signal readiness
  • Plan safe isolation of PLC5 components during migration windows

Execution (Location-wise Changeover)

  • Ensure safe signal forcing to prevent spurious trips
  • Validate hardware removal or bypass procedures (PLC5 I/O, OCR, JBs)

Post-Cutover Activities

  • Validate F&G functionalities in the new system
  • Perform joint loop checks and interlock verifications
  • Assist in the commissioning and fine-tuning of HMI and logic as per the migrated system

Allen Bradley PLC5 Cabinets Demolition Support

  • Verifying that all signals have been transferred and validated on the new system.
  • Coordinating the “safe isolation and de-energization” of the PLC5 hardware and DH+ network components.
  • Supervising the “removal of obsolete cabinets, DH+ junction boxes, OCR modules, and associated wiring”, ensuring proper disconnection, tagging, and documentation.
  • Ensuring all demolition activities are executed as per site safety standards and with “no disruption to adjacent operational systems.
Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Control Engineering.
  • Minimum 6–10 years of hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley safety systems in process or critical safety applications.
  • Proven experience in executing online FGS system changeovers, especially in live plant environments with zero tolerance for downtime.
  • In-depth knowledge of the DH+ (Data Highway Plus) network, including configuration and troubleshooting of:

▪ DH+ Junction Boxes

▪ Optical Communication Repeater (OCR) modules

Technical Skills

Allen-Bradley PLC5 Expertise

  • Proficiency in RSLogix5/PLC5 software:
  • Reading, modifying, and safely deploying PLC logic
  • Signal simulation and controlled forcing of I/O to maintain "healthy" status during live migrations
  • Alarm and interlock management for F&G scenarios

Network & Interface Knowledge

  • Full understanding of DH+ network topology, node communication, and fault recovery
  • Safe disconnection/reconnection procedures for DH+ interfacing equipment during changeover
  • Network conflict resolution and addressing during dual system operation

HMI/SCADA Integration

  • Proficient in RSView32 or FactoryTalk View (legacy HMI systems)
  • Able to modify or decouple HMI screens during cutover
  • Experience synchronizing graphics with new controller (Yokogawa ProSafe-RS) once cutover is completed

Additional Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, OPC, Ethernet/IP, Profibus).
  • Site experience in brownfield upgrades under live plant conditions.
  • Strong coordination, leading, and documentation capabilities.
  • Proactive problem-solving and real-time decision-making.
  • Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) aware, especially for online FGS work.
