Job Summary

The Control, Sensors, and Safety Specialist is expected to provide the sales support required to assist business development managers with the proper selection, customer acquisition, installation, and commissioning of application specific solutions. The role acts as the primary technical expert on basic control, sensors, and safety applications.  This includes proximity, temperature, pressure, vision, light curtain applications, etc. Additionally, this expert will provide technical training to all required staff and/or customers.

 

Essential Job Functions 

  • Applies safe-work practices for the selection and installation of controls, sensors, and safety solutions.
  • Responsible for identifying and selecting application specific solutions.
  • Provides recommendations and technical expertise in the selection of sensors and safety products for customer applications.
  • Demonstrates a complete understanding of the installation requirements and best practices for applications.
  • Make joint sales calls with field sales staff in support of applications.
  • Provides technical support to internal and external customers.
  • Conducts training for both internal associates and customers.
  • Responsible for achieving revenue and growth goals.
  • Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relations with customers, coworkers and supervisors.
  • Ability to multi-task and to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work full-time or overtime, if necessary.
Qualifications

Education/Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience.
  • Experience supporting the selection, installation, troubleshooting, or commissioning of controls, sensors, and safety related systems within industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and safety standards related to controls, sensors, and industrial automation applications.

  • Excellent communication skills for explaining complex concepts to customers and team members.

Physical Demands
