Job Description

As a Contracts and Finance Support Manager, you will help Rhombus address the full breadth of our contractual obligations during the US Government acquisitions and sustainment lifecycle, as well as manage the entirety of Rhombus’ contract responsibilities. You will also be responsible in supporting all outputs associated with Financial, Planning & Analysis (FP&A), including but not limited to annual budget preparation, monthly forecasts, strategic planning, management reporting, and special projects. 

You will serve a critical function supporting our US Government business. You will collaborate with Rhombus’ Executive Suite, Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Business Development teams to manage the government contracting process and contracting office relationships, and keep pace with our diverse and expanding portfolio of Federal partnerships. Rhombus is a fast-growing company at the early stages of growth, and we’re seeking like-minded, mission-oriented candidates that must be resourceful, creative, and eager to take ownership of complex matters. 

This is a fast-paced, ‘roll-up your sleeves’ role. On any given day, you’ll help push deals across the finish line, review, edit, negotiate, and complete critical contract documentation, reviews balance sheet account analysis, respond to FOIAs, develop and present ad hoc financial reports, build out pricing proposals, review NDAs, negotiate data contracts, travel to program offices to negotiate terms, implement new company directives/policies, all while supporting other high-impact projects from leadership. In this role, there is always a new challenge to conquer with opportunities for career growth and company growth and impact.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide contract and subcontract support for various CPFF, FFP, T&M, IDIQ Government (FAR/DFARS) contracts and Other Transaction Agreements. 
  • Support of these contracts may involve proposal development and reviews, contract negotiation, contract compliance, contract/task order management, contract modifications, and contract close-out. Functions for this role will also include Non-Disclosure Agreements, Teaming Agreements and issuing RFPs.
  • Stay up to date on relevant regulations, including FAR and DFARS, with the motivation to quickly learn new concepts.
  • Directly support the budgeting process, forecasting process, strategic planning process, and standard management reporting. 
  • Support the review and approval process of balance sheet account analysis, statement of cash flows and supporting schedules and standard consolidated reporting packs. 
  • Produce a variety of routine and ad hoc financial reports, packages and pro forma analyses for executive leadership team,
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations, legal requirements, and company policies.
  • Maintain an audit file for each contract to include the original contract, all correspondence, changes/deviations/modifications, amendments, clarifications, payment schedules, and deliverables.
  • Provide contract summaries and ensure contract execution in accordance with government, company policies.
  • Provide program managers and executives with contract briefs during the life of contracts.
  • Provide contractual guidance and risk mitigation strategies for contractual and business obligations.

What we’re looking for:

  • Familiarity with software licensing, commercial acquisition, and/or Department of Defense acquisition.
  • Broad, in-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), concepts
  • Proficiency in all contract types, including transactions, FAR-based contracts and agreements ranging from $<1M-$100M+. 
  • Excellent organizational skills; capable of maintaining both broad and intricate knowledge of special projects and enabling outcomes with minimal direction.
  • A technical background in finance and/or contracts, with a strong interest in technology.

What we require:

  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a U.S. secret clearance. Current clearance holders are encouraged to apply!
  • At minimum a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, law, public policy, international affairs, or related field. Masters preferred. 
  • Experience with full life cycle contract management for CPFF, FFP, and T&M government and commercial contracts.
  • A strong working knowledge of US Government contracting including FAR / DFARS experience.
  • Willing to work onsite in our Palo Alto, CA HQ with availability for 10-15% travel
